Obama's Best State of the Union Speech
Tweet Share on Facebook January 25, 2012 Comment (11)The State of the Union was upbeat and positive, and that's saying a lot from me, a pessimist. Now I know those on the right will tell you everything that was wrong with the president's speech; heck, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Gov. Mitt Romney told America what they thought of the president's speech before he even uttered a word!

What Else Is Mitt Romney Hiding Besides His Taxes?
Tweet Share on Facebook January 20, 2012 Comment (10)What I've learned this week:
Former Gov. Mitt Romney is refusing to release his tax returns to the American people until April. Big surprise. We always hold things from others we want to hide. But what will we find that we don't already know? That Mr. Romney is the upper 1 percent of the 1 percent? And it's not the 2011 tax return we're concerned with, it's the returns for those years Mr. Romney was at Bain Capital; how much did he make? And could he have taken a smaller paycheck to save 150 jobs in South Carolina, or 185 jobs in Buffalo, N.Y., or a couple of hundred jobs in Indiana...

What's Next for Mitt Romney After New Hampshire Win
Tweet Share on Facebook January 11, 2012 Comment (2)Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney won the New Hampshire primary, no big surprise. And Romney will win the GOP nomination as well, in my opinion. Now the Republicans who have found every excuse to distance themselves from Romney--"anyone but Romney"--are going to have to figure out who they hold more disdain for: Romney or President Obama. Whether it be Romney's religion, his more moderate stand, his healthcare reform individual mandate on while governor of Massachusetts, his flip then flop from prochoice to prolife and, the fact he's completely a Washington outsider, which the ole school GOP definitely doesn't favor. Will the Republicans, who didn't want to ask this candidate to dance, ask him to marry them come November? Of course they will.

Rick Santorum? Mitt Romney? Why the Iowa Caucuses Don't Matter
Tweet Share on Facebook January 3, 2012 Comment (8)As I write this, Rick Santorum has just taken the lead over Mitt Romney, slightly and only 45 percent of the votes are in in Iowa. Moments ago, with just over 30 percent of the votes in, Ron Paul, Rick Santorum, and Mitt Romney were in a three way tie with 23 percent of the vote. By the time this is published, we may know the winner.
But does it matter?
