With bin Laden Dead, U.S. Should Draw Down in Afghanistan

With over 100,000 of our troops in Afghanistan alone, consider: it costs the US about $1MILLION PER SOLDIER to deploy to Afghanistan war. With Bin Laden no longer part of that mission, can we reasonably continue to spend that kind of money given the financial crisis at home? Military insists we can "win", although, they are NEVER clear just what exactly we will win.

The tribal culture of the Middle East is not easily understood by Westerners. To have any point of reference, we should consider how US citizens would react to foreign troops on US soil. We make more friends and fewer Al-Qaeda converts by leaving. Now.

Let's bring 'em home.

We are spending vastly more money than is in our strategic interests. We are being bled dry.

i am kind of happy that asama bin laden is dead although it was wrong to kill someone thats what my neighbors said well i think that it as rights that they did kill osama bin laden because he deseved it. He didn't have the right to go kill millions of people in 911

It appears the writer has no background in diplomacy or international affairs. Amazing to read such a simple and crude take on a complex and important issue such as our presence and purpose in Afghanistan.
