The Right's Criticism of Obama on Japan, the Budget Ring Hollow

Leslie, once you stop mooning over your hunky, poor misunderstood, "just one man" crush, I wonder if you could answer a question.

I haven’t seen the hearings in Tokyo where they demand that the Jeff Immelt and the other leaders at Government Electric come in to testify under oath and explain the nuclear catastrophe while the “disaster” is still underway and before all the facts are in. And where are the accusations and finger-pointing threatening GE’s leaders with jail time and massive lawsuits if they don’t set up a multibillion yen extralegal slush fund to be disbursed as the Prime Minister sees fit. And where is the ban on purchasing all things GE when it comes time to rebuild? I mean, isn’t this the new norm after Obama’s whining weaseling handling of HIS BP disaster? It worked so well, the main stream media still harps on “Bush’s” Katrina fiasco(the LA governor and NO mayor’s fault to anyone who understands the issues) but nary a domestic word about Obama’s twisting in the wind, unfettered by principles (the Brits are not so forgiving of his pilfering from their private pensions). The Japanese are exceptional at copying success and you would think they would do it here. But no, they “accept responsibility” and “focus the people on solving the problems together.” What’s wrong with them?

Also, the world, left and right are desperate for any sign ofreal consistent American leadership on anything. Try escaping your parochial world of the NYT/WashPost/ SanFranChronicle/ Democratic daily talking points (admit it, you read them religiously) and read INTERNATIONAL papers like The Independent, Der Spiegel, LeMond, The Economist, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Financial Times, Aftenposten, etc. etc. Leslie, there is a world of intelligent debate beyond your narrow-minded hate reinforced rhetoric. Just open yourself up to new ideas and leave the shackles of your 1930's economic philosophy and flower child world view behind! You'll feel so grown up, I promise. I remember that I did after I graduated from grade school.

...or did your boyfriend get upset ("Peter Principal") with you and you're, ridiculously, getting back at the world with your displaced anger on this column??

I see no viability or substance in any portion of your comment other than that "birther" thing ....and THAT only leaves me with a question that I would like to have answered, as most of us would

Why did obama, in his very first Executive Order #13489, close ALL of his records off to the public?:

http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Executive_Order_13489

Why?

Why?

Why?

Why?

Why?

( ....judging by the lack of substance from your initial comment, I should expect more of the same, eh??)

It's hardly a surprise that the same people who criticized Clinton's affair in office, but downplay their own multiple affairs in office, feel that it's necessary to nitpick Obama on unimportant things while claiming that he is wasting time with trivialities. The GOP practically invented hypocrisy. And that inane, repetitive birther garbage is just pitiful. What next, a GOP campaign platform based on how the moon landings were a hoax meant to set the stage for the destruction of the universe by the LHC, all under the command of the easter bunny and Lex Luthor?

Leslie Marshall appears to be a life-long member of that group which is commonly known as the "willing ignorant"!

Right or wrong, a true black advocate all the way, eh, Leslie?

Ed Harrow of FL 6:47AM March 17, 2011

You, Leslie Marshal, are as blind as the proverbial bat!

It is not just "The Right", it is the WHOLE WORLD who believes Obama is a non-leader!

Good grief, woman! TAKE YOUR ROSE-COLORED GLASSES OFF, ESTUPIDO!!!!

Rather watch Juan Williams myself. I respect his opinion. Like Bill O', both will take conservative side as well as liberal side. Neither say conservatives is all correct & the other side is all wrong. Sarah said she was willing to campaign for a Democrat who she believes in.

Let Marshall burn her bra if that accomplishes something. Is her right...

You are just as pathetic if not more so than the person you try to defend .

Hunter of WI 8:08PM March 16, 2011

What a sad excuse for a news reporter this marshall person is!

She was shoved to the garbage heap with her inadequate comments regarding the crisis in Japan as her responses were non-responsive (not unlike her "hero", obooboo). I watched her whole pathetic "interview" as I'm sure most viewers pinched their noses!

The ends of her mouth curl downward (even when smiling) which is a sure sign of an unhappy and habitually lying person ......and it stands to reason!

Not a good one, that's for sure

Icanseeclearlynow of WI 7:20PM March 16, 2011

Exactly my point. He's not in charge and his lack of leadership creates a power vacuum.

david of ID 6:19PM March 16, 2011

"He seems like a guy so steeped in liberal progressivism that he looks like a deer in the headlights when reality and the world don't conform to his perspective."

Word has it he left his first NSA briefing looking quite shaken. I don't know what they told him, but I'm betting it wasn't what he was expecting.

Then he followed up by continuing nearly every Bush policy that he had blasted through the campaign. Do ya *really* think he's in charge?
