Leslie:

Would you please show me the statement in the First Amendment that separates the church from the state. I believe it simply forbids our so called leaders from making any laws restricting religion. I am not an O'Donnell fan and I don't think she can win, but on this issue I feel she raised a valid point.

I think most people that are switching are seeing the common thread between most of the Tea Party candidates as being insanity and general lack of qualifications. Add to that consistent racist quotes, beliefs that scientists have created mice with fully developed human brains and other unsavory news that keeps surfacing around Tea Party and Republican candidates and it paints a psychologically unstable, generally dysfunctional picture of Republican political theory as it stands today.

Even people that feel like two years is sufficient to clear up whatever problems the last administration made either have come to the realization that that's unrealistic or these republican candidates just aren't going to help they're going to make worse than when we were losing 800,000 jobs a month during the end of the Bush era.

Articles like the two appearing in two recent U.S.News emails, which are obviously anti Republican, and pro-liberal may be the demise of U.S.News much like the applauded demise of Newsweek which also consistently went over the top with it's blatant "news" bias.

Time Magazine, The New York Times, Newsweek, and U.S.News remind me of the World War I pilots in their open cockpits after their planes have suffered destructive damage. They are shown with their white scarves trailing in the wind as the pilots with a big smile on their face, power their fatally wounded planes in a straight dive into the ground.

Last week Marshall University dishonorably took sides in the tight West Virginia U.S. Senate race by publishing a phony poll conducted by a Democratic

campaign boss. Even though the results were completely out of step with previous polls conducted by non-partisan groups, the university decided to sanction the unscrupulous act. Needless to say, this bizarre strategy backfired, leaving a bad taste in the mouths of many of West Virginia’s voters

The NPR poll has no more credibility than its explanation of why Juan Williams was fired. Fair minded Americans will reject it just as they have rejected the dismissal of Mr. Williams. Totally without merit.

More "bigotry" from NPR and blogger-approved Leslie Marshall

Published October 21, 2010

NPR News says that it has terminated the contract of Williams after remarks he made about Muslims on The O'Reilly Factor. (AP)

National Public Radio fired Fox News contributor Juan Williams on Wednesday after a Monday night appearance on Fox News' "The O'Reilly Factor" in which Williams said that it makes him nervous to fly on airplanes with devoutly-clad Muslims.

"I mean, look, Bill, I'm not a bigot. You know the kind of books I've written about the civil rights movement in this country," Williams told host Bill O'Reilly during a discussion on the dilemma between fighting jihadists and fears about average Muslims.

An NPR poll that shows Democrat party gains - I can't imagine them finding any other plausible 'facts'. I'm certain the reporting was done by Michael Moore, one of their favored elitists.

NPR has terrific local programming, but when they venture into politics and government, it's all on one side of the spectrum.

As for me, I want balance back in my federal government. Today it is in the hands of extremists who want to destroy the society and culture that has been evolving for the last 200+ years.

There are other ways to solve our problems without resorting to massive income redistribution. It's called increasing the size of the pie and providing access for all of our citizens.

OK, Leslie, let's talk facts. Fact, ObamaCare was foisted on the American people, against their will, by a Democratic Congress under the guise that it would improve coverage and lower costs--and people who had health insurance would be able to keep their existing plan. What happened? Already company after company--including Boeing this week--have put paid to that lie. Benefits have been cut, co-pays have gone up, and deductibles have increased. Many Medicare advantage plans have been pulled. And the costs for everyone are skyrocketing--and it's because of ObamaCare. Worse, we haven't even seen the real repercussions of this government take over of health care--doctors leaving, rationing, waiting lists to see your doctor, the impact of $500 million cuts in Medicare, the hidden clause in the bill that requires every business to send out a 1099 form to every other business that it has spent $600 or more with in a calendar year... This nightmare is still unfolding...

Then there's FinReg (which is a 2,300 page law to make laws--again with many terrible hidden clauses that will raise our interest rates, weaken our competitive advantage at attracting foreign capital...and much to be written by bureaucrats with no supervision by anyone we've ever elected), the waste of TARP, the pseudo-"stimulus" that didn't stimulate anything but the national debt... Those are the facts, Ms. Marshall. Let's deal with them in November and throw these clowns out on the street.
