New Census Data Brings Good News for Democrats

John, I laughed my tush off at your unbelievable nonsense! So, the folks moved south because it was warmer, hey? Heck, if you believe that, then you should be all for global warming since it would help your beloved northern Marxist states, as it would keep their subjects from moving away!

However, just for fun, in case you really don't understand what's going on, let me explain it for you and the one or two US News "readers" that may still exist:

In “Atlas Shrugged”, which was published in 1957, the phrase “Going Galt” referred to the process of productive individuals opting out of contributing their professional and personal skills to an increasingly dysfunctional nation and instead founding a new society by moving to a secret and closed enclave in the state of Colorado, leaving behind only moochers and looters to wreak havoc on a rapidly imploding nation.

This exact scenario is playing out in our nation today, albeit without the novelistic artifice of secrecy and mystery depicted in the book. Instead, the anti-Galt states conveniently mark themselves as such with pro-moocher and pro-looter polices such as insane cap-and-trade schemes, unsustainable deficit spending, anti-business and anti-employment regulation and taxation, crumbling infrastructure, deteriorating public order, failing public schools, out-of-control public employee unions, pro-illegal immigration policies, etc., whereas the pro-Galt states have the exact opposite policies.

As a consequence, we’re witnessing a steady flow of productive people migrating from the anti-Galt states to the pro-Galt states, confirmed by the census data that drives Congressional re-redistricting every decade, namely, anti-Galt states are losing Congressional seats, while pro-Galt states gain Congressional seats. This migration of Congressional seats is thus an ideal metric for measuring the process of “Going Galt” in contemporary times.

and why do you think people move from liberal states to conservative ones DA?

People who move toward conservative states are more likely to want to work, people going in the other direction want to mooch.

One thing that needs to be taken into account is California's future. We have slipped from the 6th largest economy to the 8th. With the election of Jerry Brown and other left-wing, business hating, liberals this trend will only continue. The state is BROKE, not broken, but flat BROKE. Once the people of California realize that the path we are on will only destroy their jobs, lower the value of their home, and decrease retirement funds their voting preferences may change.

For the rest of America, they should look at California as a case study on what not to do if they want to be successful.

Wrote: "Senate Republicans did themselves no favor by rejecting so moderate and fair a measure as the DREAM Act last week."

Just when I thought Farrell couldn't possibly more un-American, he goes and proves me wrong.

Current immigration laws clearly outline the steps toward citizenship. The DREAM act (a stupid name for the act) is really Nightmare Amnesty.

If we, as a nation, want to confront illegal immmigration then we should first enforce/implement immigration law and THEN we look at changes based on what works and what doesn't. That's the process. That's how it works.

The immigration laws and what Reid is attempting to do is akin to scrap the entire bike because someone forgot to put air in the tires.

We have immigration laws (bicycle) that have served us well. But at some point, we stopped applying and enforcing those laws . . . (we let air out of the tire). Now the bike does work well. But, rather than fix the problem, progressive liberals instead invent the "Dream" act, and expect us to believe our bike will function without tires.

I'm not against legal immigration. If someone comes to the United States and goes through the legalization process and become a citizen then I welcome them with open arms. It would be hypocritical of me or anyone to not welcome them since we can all trace our roots to immigration.

The problem is, to buy votes, Reid promised to grant illegal aliens the rights, responsibility, privileges, and blessings of citizenship despite the fact they blatently circumvented our immigration process and laws.

It's like people who wait in the cold and rain to enter a sold out concert only to find a cheat that arrived moments before general admission, circumvented the line by dishonestly prying open a door or window for entry and now sits in your seat and refuses to move. They didn't pay the price for admission, they didn't sit in the cold, they didn't follow the rules, and now Reid and his cronies are willing to make concession and give amnesty saying, "We'lll let you stay here if you can get your compadres to vote for me . . ."

This fallacey . . . this amnesty of "Dream act" flies in the face of core American values of fairness, justice, and rule of law. I'm astounded that politicians who represent America and her citizens, would blatently thumb their collective noses in support of criminals. What is equally amazing is someone like Farrell would relish the opportunity to be the water boy for this kind of behavior.

Talk about spin, the reason people are fleeing these states are that high earners are fleeing taxes and corporations are fleeing unions. The only problem is that if Obama were to succeed in screwing up the rest of the country as bad as democrats have screwed up most of the northern states and California, the only places left to flee are outside of the US. As far as the spin, to use a variation on an old joke, Farrell would try to comfort Ms. Lincoln by saying at least it was a good play.

A bill that would allow children illegally brought into this country who fullfilled certain requirements to eventually become citizens is a good thing. But the DREAM act went beyond that to include a path citizenship for both the parents who brought those children into the country (illegally) and the siblings of the child who never met the DRRAM act requirements. So one child meeting requirements could mean citizenship for many other family members. Some might think this is moderate or fair. I do not. Neither did the senators of my state who voted against this bill.

Rigging elections by facilitating illegal migration through non-enforcement and luring illegal aliens into the country with more and more benefits like the DREAM Act and amnesties is good for the Democrats, but deadly for democracy.
