contrary to what was stated above by Mr. Farrell, Weicker didn't serve in the Senate as an Independent. He did get elected Governor as an Independent.

More than 10 times I have posted the Republican health plan link. After somebody like you said we had no health plan.

You can look it up or wait for second CONTRACT WITH AMERICA which I expect to see soon.

I guess more "market" solutions, huh? That is what created the problem in the first place.

Without her vote in committee obamacare might be waste paper in the trash bin. In a perfect world when she runs for reelection, if she ran, she will face a fine Tea opponent and go down in flames...

Speaking for myself as tea thinker, call me right wing if you wish. But "tea" is more to my liking. Can appreciate "NO"...

Our elected officials should be striving to occupy a "catbird seat" in an effort to extract "plums" from other parties. Gee, novel, but I would have hoped that their primary goal would be to do what is right for the country, in accordance with the constitution. Guess you progressives have a unique way of looking at things.

It's telling when I see a dyed in the wool liberal such as yourself jumping to the defense of moderate Republicans like Snowe and Collins.

That reason alone is enough to rid the congressional roost of these sitting hens.

The right tilt to the Republican party is in response to the left tilt of the Democrats (Obama, Reid, Nancy P). Why didn't you recommend that moderate Democrats like Conrad of ND and Webb of VA (there are probably some more) do the same thing and become independent? If enough Senators do we may have the building blocks of a centrist party that could attract those who want more choices in the voting booth other than a right wing Rebublican and a left wing Democrat. I know I do.

then it means Americans understand what thye need to do, and that is why the Republicans are now only left with an ultra-right and ultra-conservative elements...and merge into Tea Party and its philosophy that only have 25% of favorable rating....

"centrist" keeps shifting left. Look at your own political evolution John.
