Helen Thomas Should Have Quit Sooner

Helen Thomas didn't lose her job because of her views on Israel. She lost it because of a display of incredible bigotry. No news organization wants someone like that to further represent them. Had she made a similarly offense comment about any other ethnic, racial or religious group she would have suffered the same fate.

Helen Thomas, the professional wordsmith who made a living with the pen, was acutely aware of what she was saying despite her advanced age. Stop making excusses for the buffoon. She's gone.

Goodbye and good riddance! But, thanks for playing. And, as a consolation prize, you have delux spartan accommodations awaiting you on a retirement kibbutz in Haifa Israel!

Take note, Islam wants to destroy Israel - A week doesn't pass when they don't reconfirm their hatred, and determination to kill all Jews. It's also important to understand that the dogma of Islam demands that all infidels must convert or die. They have been trying to destroy Christianity for 1400 years. Uh... to those dim bulbs out there - that "killing" part includes you - Christian or not.

How anyone could side with the obvious evil of these Islamic regimes is positively mind boggling.

Remember,

1. There is no religious tolerance in Islamic regimes. Having a bible or a cross will land you in jail - or far worse. An public atheist is as good as dead.

2. They are trying to destroy Israel - Israel is not trying to destroy them.

3. They treat women as property. Beatings are legal - spousal rape is legal - often even encouraged. If a woman is raped by strangers it is often considered her fault and beating or jail the punishment. A wife's infidelity may result in execution or public beating - So, where are all the Rad-Fems?

4. Homosexuals are imprisoned or executed. "Gay Rights" - you must be joking.

5. Nearly all Muslim governments financially support terrorists.

6. The PLO, Hamas and Al Quida are kept as well fed attack dogs for Islam.

7. Children are openly trained as terrorists and educated to hate all infidels - just as the Koran dictates.

8. There is no freedom of speech or choice of entertainment in Muslim countries.

9. People are jailed for kissing or holding hands in public.

10. Women are beaten or jailed for wearing pants, walking with an unrelated male, or driving a car. Divorce? Forget about it...

If none of that means anything to you haters of Israel then I submit, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

Having the "freedom" to say what you want does not remove the consequences for using your freedom unwisely.

"Arab-American" is mantioned but sir, you forgot to mention a very high number of Jewish-Americans working in the White House, the media and Hollywood. Thats because if you did, you'd lose your job too.

Why was Israel created?

Because Jews were persecuted by Hitler in Germany?

Therefore, if Hitler did not persecute Jews there would be no Israel? right?

So why do Jews support Israel, a State created by the evil actions of Hitler? he was solely responsible for its creation... !?!? without Hitler there would be no Israel. Obviously they cant thank him.

Being highly successful in business and the professions in not a reason to exterminate six million innocent men, women and children. Jews may have only been 1% of the German population in the 1920s and 1930s but they also paid much more than 1% of the total tax revenues to the German government. They also contributed disproportionately to German growth and development. They also contributed disproportionately to Germany's scientific and technological advancement. It is often speculated by competent historians that if Hitler had not persecuted the Jews, he might have succeded in his quest for world conquest. He would have retained scientists like Albert Einstein and others whose valuable contributions to nuclear science are well known.

Post-WWII research in Germany revealed that the German Jews didn't control a highly disproportionate share of the wealth, income, businesses or professional careers. Persecuting them was a huge mistake. Likewise, all this ignorant noise about Jews in America controlling the banks, media, etc. is false. These institutions have a majority non-Jewish participation and frankly the ethnic background of people in various fields is irrelevant. Jews pursue higher education more than any other group which explains why they succeed more often. It is important to remember that they all immigrated from eastern Europe over 100 years ago as very poor people with nothing and did much to advance themselves and American society along with them. It is hard for anyone to imagine the US without Jews. We be a lot worse off for it.

The 9/11 attacks had absolutely nothing to do with Israel or US support for Israel. It had everything to do with US military presence in Saudi Arabia, the sanctions against Iraq which were having a deteriorating effect on the civilian population of that country and general US military presence in the Persian Gulf. The goals of fundamentalist Islam is hostile to this US presence. Our main concern in the Middle East is oil not Israel. Israel gets support because they are seen as America's only reliable ally in that vital region. In addition, Israel provides an important market for US exports, hosts billions in US direct foreign investment and sells billions of dollars in high yield, low risk government bonds to US institutional investors and individuals. Israel is also a font of technological advancement in information and communications technology and medical research. It is known that they are nearing a cure for ALS or Lou Gherig's disease.

I reject Israel's illegal occupation of the West Bank and Gaza. I believe, as do most people,in a two state solution. This is the only way to peace for both Arabs and Jews. Both would glean much benefit and so would the entire world for this problem to finally be resolved. But the anti-semitism of Helen Thomas or that of Mike from Utah will not put us one step closer to this goal. It was 2000 years of anti-semitism that led to Israel's existance in the first place.

"The only people on this planet that are actually living in their home are the Jews in Israel."

...so no other humans lived in the land of Israel before the Jews?

Extremely ignorant statement sir?

Go back to Lebanon - get the hell out of the US.

Where do idiots like her come from them? They seem to be everywhere these days - mostly crammed into the democratic party and amongst the inane drones of Hollywood.

If anyone is already HOME it is the Jews in Israel!

Palestine is not a nation. Never has been.

Jews have lived their for centuries - the idea that only Arabs were there before the 20th century is utter nonsense generated by leftist media propaganda and fairy tale telling - another thing we hear all the time these days from the mainstream news manipulators.

As one other commentator remarked - All US citizens of European, Asian or South American descent - get the hell out of the US and lets give it all back to the Indians! Huh? While we're at sending people home.

So many idiot reporters with their brains on HOLD, so few stray comets.

She made comments as a citizen of the United States of America, which means she can damn well say what she wants to. If some folks don't agree with her that is their right as well. I never figured that she would cave in to this.
