Illegal pay taxes Argument!
There's the "illegal aliens pay tons of taxes" argument. Sure, they all pay real estate taxes (in rent) and sales taxes (most states). Those working on the books (typically using stolen Social Security numbers) pay FICA and, perhaps, income taxes. But they're mostly ill-educated, prolific breeders, low-skilled and pay little or no taxes connected to their working -- in fact, most claim the Earned Income Tax Credit, i.e. negative income tax! If a family with both parents working has two kids in school, that's at least $15k/year just for schooling, way more than the taxes on, say, $35k/year aggregate income.
Robert Rector at the Heritage Foundation has done the systematic accounting on all this. A typical household headed by a low-skilled illegal alien is a net drain of about $20k/year for the rest of us, year after year. (Low-skilled Americans are a similar burden, but they're part of the national family, not gate crashers from other societies.)
Illegal Bad..Amnesty good Argument!
There's the "illegal immigration is bad, but make them citizens and problem solved" argument. Nope. If that were the case, legalizing (i.e. amnestying) the illegal aliens would solve the problem. But they'd still be (on average) low-skilled workers whose burden on the rest of us would continue. In fact, once legal they'd be able to access more public benefits programs, so their cost to the rest of us would actually rise substantially. In addition to bringing in their relatives under chain immigration in a never ending chain! In short, all of the problems of mass illegal immigration are shared & increased by mass amnestying them.

In a world of changing values & no certainly it is refreshing to find some things endure, resist & refuse change. Some would call it faith, some would call it stupidly but whatever it is called the facts remain Liberals do not want to be confused with reason, logic or facts because their mind is made up by what MNM & the elitist Democrat leaders tell them to think! It is a Article of Faith not to be refuted or questioned that if you disagree with them it is because you are Racist! Our government fails the most basic and primary task & duty of government, spelled out in our Constitution Article IV Section IV to protect this Nation and its Citizens from invasion and enforce its laws.
Our Government, past & present, Republican & Democrat, have allowed the invasion of 20 to 30 million criminals and uneducated peons which is the largest invasion of any Nation, at any time, by any means & in direct violation of Article IV Section IV of our Constitution.
This refusal by our Lawless Politicians to abide by our Constitution, enforce our Immigration Laws and honor their Oath of Office should be classified as Treason of the most foul kind, & as grounds for Impeachment & trials for Treason!
Not only have they allowed the invasion, they have aided, encouraged & assisted in this invasion and provided sanctuary for the invaders. While forcing American tax payers to pay Billions on Billions of dollars to provide Welfare, Prison cells, Educate the invaders numerous children, and free medical care, at the same time the invading horde break numerous laws and massive document fraud, & are destroying our schools, hospitals, communities, culture and standard of living while Robbing, Raping, Killing & Assaulting American Citizens at an rate that Islam Terrorist can only dream about.
Recent statements in Mexico from both President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary something needs to be done. "Our inability to prevent weapons from being illegally smuggled across the border to arm these criminals causes the deaths of police officers, soldiers, and civilians," Hillary whined.
But no mention, whines, concern or care that their refusal to stop the Massive Invasion of Illegal Aliens pouring across our borders or enforce our immigration laws that causes an estimated 25 Americans deaths per day and 10,s of thousands victims of Assault, Robberies, Rapes, Identify thief, and other assorted crimes committed by the invading horde of Illegal Aliens on American citizens each year!
It is a telling indictment & shows their Empathy & Compassion of our Politic class & their priorities are not for the American citizens when they express more concern over Mexicans deaths mostly connected to the Drug trade, than the murders, havoc & crimes of Illegal Aliens against American Citizens!
The Democrats view the invading horde of Criminals and Uneducated, Prolific breeding, Third World rejects as Undocumented Welfare Democrats & the Republicans as Undocumented Slave labor for their Pay Masters in the Chamber of Commerce & Businesses!
Most of our Politicians in Wash. DC are wading knee deep in innocent American blood and suffering because they put Self Interest & Votes ahead of the interest of American Citizens & the future of this Nation!
The Citizens of this Nation have not sacrificed with blood, sweat & tears for over 200 years & obeyed the Laws of the land, paid the taxes, and fought the wars & built this Nation to see Corrupt politician

Today, Mexico's declaration of war on America moves with quickening speed. Their modern day General Calderon is not content with retaking Texas. He invades all American states by the largest Invasion of any Nation, at any time, by any means, anywhere in the world!
This invasion is encouraged, abetted and organized by the Mexican state and supported by all citizens in Mexican society. Calderon provides his 'troops' with maps, water, provisions and aid to invade America's border.
Our President & U.S. Congress aids, abets and encourages this invasion by failing to defend our borders, by providing 100.s of billions in benefits to the invaders & by Promising them Amnesty & American Citizenship as a reward for their Invasion!
This refuse by our Politicians to abide by our Constitution against Invasion, enforce our Laws & Honor their Oath of Office by defending American Citizens & this Nation from Invasion is Treason. Pure & Simple!

I believe that all of these immigration problems could be avoided if the Federal Government actually did its job of enforcing illegal immigration. If they fined employers who hire illegal immigrants and take away their incentives for coming here like free health care and schooling then they will stop coming here. But instead Arizona is left to make drastic laws in order to solve a problem that is affecting them and the Fed will continue to allow illegals to come into the country.

Consider the USA Patriot Act’s money-laundering provisions, which can be used in pursuit of more than 200 different federal crimes. In searches on 962 suspects yielding hits on 6,397 financial records in 2003, 4,261 had no terrorist connection, per Newsweek (12/01/03, page 36). One of its very first uses was to prosecute county commissioners in NV for getting free lap-dances; despicable perhaps, but hardly a terrorist activity.
I don't want to get into constitutional issues, whether the AZ act is well-intentioned but perhaps misguided or poorly crafted, the culpability of the Feds for not enforcing existing law, etc. All I'm saying is that when the well-tanned socialite from Scottsdale gets hauled in for not having her papers in order, I'll be there to say, "Told you so!"

I don't comment on every item but your cotininous "anti" narrations makes me waste my time commenting on your writings.
If I were a policeman I would feel insulted that I could not perform properly in enforcing this law.
What this should bring about is a--voting identification card--- which would solve the present problem and future election violations

How about a drivers license? You know like when you are stopped for speeding or running a red light or you want to cash a check...no one said anything about a passport. Let's have a real debate about the problem. Phoenix is the kidnap Capital of the US, but no worries~ its all good in AZ.

Our freedom and liberties are being threatened and taken away.
You can not walk the streets of one of these united states without carrying your papers or you could go to jail.
ALERT - you need to carry a passport or birth certificate if you enter Arizona.
We used to complain that you now need a passport to enter Canada, but now you need a passport to enter Arizona like a foreign country.
This is being done by an unelected Republican governor who is famous for stripping 100,000 people of voting rights without any proof and valid basis. Arizona Republican depend on stripping minorities of voting rights to stay in power. This is a first step to apartheid in the US. The hatemongers are using race and hate to intimidate and scare Americans to turn on each other, while they give away the store to multinationals.
Time to stop the Republican/Bund party, again!

Probably the most idiotic article I have read in a long time. To stereotype the people you are supposedly attempting to protect makes me wonder why this ding dong is allowed to waste print space. In Arizona today there are 500,000 illegal aliens. If 500,000 Americans invaded Mexico, we would be at war.
