Why Republicans Fear Obama's Healthcare Reform

Everyone should be entitled to healthcare, healthcare is a human right. Most health insurance companies are out to make huge amounts of profits and have very little to no interest in a single person they take money from and fail to deliver when the person needs help. Healthcare for all; we should look after each other and not be selfish. Full stop. (Everyone should remember that no healthcare system is perfect, everyone is entiteled to their opinions, this is simply me opinion)

So no the government wants to take over health care. To those that don't have health care that might seem fair, but for those of us that already have it, government run health care is ridiculous. I used to work for an insurance company and I know first hand. The only way insurance makes any money is if the cash inflow is more than the risk. If under this new policy everyone will be covered regardless of pre-existing conditions, those that were paying less because they were young and healthy are now going to have to pay more to make up the difference for the over-eater tv watcher that now has obesity and is a much higher risk. Why should we be responsible to cover the bad habits of others. It seems universal health care will encourage health problems because people won't be as concerned about their health knowing they have coverage. We should focus on eliminating those high risks, such as obesity, drugs, hbp, and health problems that can be fixed by a lifestyle change. Maybe we could have tax incentives for maintaining health, through diet and fitness. I could advocate a government oversight of affordable catastrophic coverage... in case something happened out of your control. For the most part I think we need to be held accountable for our own health, and definitely not the health of others.

There will always be lazy users that milk any system. Why doesn't Dave take one of those guns he has the right to and go out and start shooting all of the people he thinks he is so much better than?

Most people that are of the tea party mind set are narcissists that need someone to look down at. Everyone of them that I know are either alcoholics or children of alcoholics. Yes, you can have a psychological disorder and use politics to act out your sickness.

The tea party movement is a sign that America will have its own Nazi party. The fact that they think Obama is a Nazi is the result of projection, something that narcissists specialize in.

Regulating a private insurance industry that is abusing the American public is NOT a government takeover. Is NOT like Canada and Britain's health system. It is NOT a single payer system. It is NOT socialistic.

The reason all of our jobs are in China?? Because employers cannot afford health benefits. The reason the US dollar is falling? Because we cannot compete in a world market because we are saddled with health care expenses.

WAKE UP! If we can spend TRILLIONS of tax dollars killing other people in other countries, we can spend a quarter of that helping reduce the economic burden of health care that is crippling our ability to compete. That isn't socialism it is capitalism. We must compete in the global marketplace and be able to dominate. We will always be one down if we continue to saddle the employers with high health care costs.

Knowing the "french model" and the misdoing inducted (abuse of treatmentsn prescription)

It whould be unbareable for the US to avoid dysfonctionnements. If so the reform is a "winner for america & the cityzens".

-First measure must be PREVENTION & education.

-Put drastic conditions to acces to cure & treatments.

-Do not let insurances, hedges funds & speculators "grab the loaf of bread".

As the freedom of entreprise this reform expenditures will generate a lot of jobs, profits ...So don't fear solidarity, just like humanitarian fondations, it's good business.

Look at the Gates, Buffet and all billionnaires ; first they act like predators, then after getting fhilty rich they turn to charity...Question why not starting with ethic actvities ?

Some day in a near future your kids will grow in a universal healthcare system. Everyone born there will have the rights to get properly attended, without taking care of family's income. That day this will be something completely normal, and your country will be bigger than ever.

It's really sad to me to listen republican members stating that an universal healthcare system is attacking individual's freedom of choice. It's absolutely lame, and if I were an American, that would be the biggest reason ever for me to not vote them in my whole life.

Time will agree Obama to be right. It happened before, and it will happen again.

Don't you realize it was Newt and the republicans that balanced the budget and gave us a surplus?

How much in bribes and back room deals did Obama spend to barely get enough of his own party to pass bill?Passed by 3 votes.100s and 100s of millions to his own party.Watch where you throw stones. Not to mention union deals, drug company deals, earmark deals. Are you proud of that? Why don't you shut up you have no room at all to speak!!

I find it so amusing that Republicans insist on blaming Obama for the current state of affairs. Have they all developed Myopic Dysentary? Don't you realize that Bush and Co are the ones that have brought us to our knees and ruined our economy by ROBBING us of a gigantic surplus. Bush,America's first selected President. This man is nothing less than a national disgrace. I'm so sick of hearing the false rhetoric coming out of the Republicans mouths that we have the best health care in the world. Any fool can do the research and find out that this is a giant falsehood. The greed and avarice that the Health Care Industry have perpetrated on the American people is just down right filthy.Any Industry that would spend 750 million dollars to kill health reform and deny 50 million people health care is rotten to the core. They are just about the only industry that is free of our Anti-Trust laws and they are legally monopolistic. Why the bonuses health care Execs receive yearly would provide coverage for millions.Republicans=national disgrace. Shame on you for denying basic health care for your fellow citizens.45 thousand people dying each year due to no health care and the number 1 reason for bankruptcies in America is due to health care, both insured and uninsured.I never thought this country that I love and fought for could be so cold and callous..just absolutely shameful!

Your still stuck on republican vs democrat? The opposition to this legislation was bipartisan, both republicans and democrats were both strongly opposed. It's only been passed by the radical progressives and those whose votes were bought by those radical progressives. It will be far more expensive than politicians estimates and is stuffed full of garbage that does not improve health care in any way. If the intent is to improve health care than propose legislation that only includes actual fixes to the problems and not giveaways to buy votes.

we will be so in debt to China that we will be at their mercy. I think it is interesting that you are wondering why Republicans wouldn't back something they felt would bring about the destruction of the Democrats. We have seen that this is how the Dems work - "Screw the country if it gets those Republicans out of office." If we have a post office that is going bankrupt, a Social Security System that is heavily "borrowed from" and not likely to be paid back, a failing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, a failing school system that is having to lay off thousands of teachers, why in the world do you think the government with do THIS better? And where are we going to get the money from? Why don't we use the $940 billion found (aka, using funds that were raised via a tax hike ostensibly to fund Social Security) to pay off our debt so we can become a self-sustaining nation NOT indebted to the likes of CHINA?? There are big picture issues that we should be concerned with, and slapping a band aid on health care and calling it a day just to be able to have something on a Democratic resume is just digging a bigger hole for our children or our children's children to one day have to try to fill.

Health care reform was needed.

The health care system was corrupt, bad and getting worse.

The Republicans did nothing about it except to take money from the health care industry, so the Democrats fixed it.

Simple as that.

This mess started with Richard Nixon and ended with Barack Obama.

Lesson number one:

Don't vote for a Republican.
