Questions for the Self-Righteous, Hypocritical Republicans

Fact: Bush had 6 of 8 years with a GOP dominated house and senate with which to work and guide our country to prosperity. He failed, miserably. We're paying for their failure now and will be for a long time to come.

Fact: Bush and the GOP spent our money on two tax cuts (that did N-O-T-H-I-N-G for the economy), revamped medicare, and two wars - all of which went straight to the deficit.

Fact: The federal govt was the largest in history - based on employment and spending - under Bush and the "anti big govt" GOP leadership

Fact: Bush and the GOP left office with a $1.3T debt

Fact: Bush and GOP led this country into the abyss - and we are just climbing out.

Fact: Democrats are far from perfect. But for someone who has "moderate" views, the GOP scares me...so, so, so out of touch. GOP had 6 years, I'm willing to give Obama and the current admin more than 13 months to turnaround the mess the GOP made - and, by the way, once they made it, they couldn't fix it. GOP = no solutions, just talk.

Do either of you realize that Federal Tax revenue reached an all time high under the Bush administration?

Bush's administration collected 35% more taxes than Clinton's ever did on his best years.

I would sure like to hear about those mythical tax breaks that Bush gave the rich, too. Some people make the accusation, but no one ever tells us just what those were?

Bush's Admin collected 15.1% of GDP in taxes, but spent 15.8% of GDP. That is 7/10 of 1% spread.

Obama's Administration has never aspired to get it that close.

How are the Republicans killing Healthcare? The Democrats have enough votes in Congress to write any bill they agree on and pass it the same week.

Why can't they do that? It is certainly not because some Republican just might possibly fillibuster them.

It is because they have made a mess of this whole affair.

Blaming any one else is disingenous, in it's original meaning. Intentionally decietful.

Our author knows that. John Farrell, too is trying to decieve us.

I think the media should start a roll call with all the phony Republicans who received stimulus money. I think the list should be televised, let the people know about these hypocritical Republicans.

Hardly..

Bush warned and Democrats stopped regulation.

Cant accept their past deeds, unfunded wars, ungodly debt, squander a budget surplus, turn a blind eye while wall street drives the economy into the ground. Yup the Bush years are something to be proud of.

Be honest Farrell. When are you going to write about the incestual relationship that Dem Sen Jay Rockafeller and Dem Rep Jane Harman have had with foreign auto maker Toyota? And to think you were worried about potential foreign ads in campaign endorsements!

Does it not bother you that a US Senator and US Representative are so closely aligned with Toyota that they should be sitting on Toyota's Corporate Board? It stinks like a bloated, dead Carp in mid July.

Like mom said, "When you point the finger at someone there will be three fingers pointed right back at you."

Obviously, anyone who thinks that the obama administration is good for the United States in anyway, simply has no concept of what it takes to be a good and strong nation. In one year he has done more damage than was even imagined by those of us who can actually see.

Robert C. of CA 10:21PM February 07, 2010

While no political party can righteously stake a claim to intellectual honesty, the Republicans have shown that its lack of it is ingrained and pervasive among its ranks, from their leaders down to older folks screaming about government takeover of health care while just as passinately protective of Medicare.
