Clinton, Palin and the Enduring Sexism in American Politics

Anne Kornblut has done a great service to the cause of women entering Politics and the reasons why more women are not entering it, unfortunately!

Hillary Clinton's campaign was not the real reason her nomination was "stolen". The Obama Campaign was vicious, malignant and employed every sexist trick in the book to bash her. They also defrauded the caucuses bringing in their own Chicago "dead souls" in Iowan and mixing up the Texas and other caucuses where they didn't hold the upper hand.

Remember when all the nasty media talking heads (Matthews' tingling leg" for Obama and the "she-bitch" of MSNBC/CNN for Hillary? The media misogynist fratboys/gals really went after Hillary big time. I dare you to view Howard Kurtz's

CNN segment "Misogyny and the Media" May '08! you';d be shocked royally! Clinton was called by that nerdy moron at MSNBC "pimping her daughter"!! And the uberidiot NBC's own boy of bitchy blather Mr. Olbermann wanted "Hillary taken to a shed and beat her" till she couldn't come out of it!

Then it was Palin's turn to be accused by the Obama campaign tweeners of her daughter having "incest" baby and faking a pregnancy! They stooped so low with Palin it was an incredible holocaust and together with Clinton's shameful treatment (where everything she said was "racist" and the Obama campaign played the "race card" to the hilt!) comprised the most ignominious moments in media lowdowns!

No one should be allowed to walk away from the '08 Nomination and Election without understanding that the "winner" really "won" at the expense of two women candidates.

And never forget Obama's "flip-offing" scratching his cheek giving th finger to Hillary the day after his disastrous ABC Debate! And personally, I will not forget Obama's supremo sexismo comment:

"Periodically, when Hillary feels 'down', she starts launching attacks against me to boost her appeal"!

Now,that's a prez to fighn sexism, aint' he, the Prince of Hope and Misogyny! Shame on him...If only he'd produce a single photo of a girl he dated while attending these highpriced universities I'd be happy to question her on his 'charm'. But he keeps all his records shut closed, all his "law school admission" records, all his health records, and thus he is cloaked in a sexual mystery....ah, El Prezidente of Hope...let him pat his wife's posterior for it looks like it's for show....

I knew Sen.Clinton would be having problems when the media started directing their attention to her blouse and cleavage.

Would they ever have focused on a man's ball sack. I don't think so. Sarah Palin, a strong and political savy woman, is now the objsct of the most sexist campaign against a political woman I have ever seen. What did she do,politically, to cause such hatred.

Yes, women have made strides, but continued sexism exists in America. I watched Obama on the campaign trail pat this wife on the butt 7 times. Now, what does that say? Ever notice that when Obama goes down a reception line, he shakes hands with the men, but kisses the woman. What a lack of respect. If he's going to kiss the women, then kiss the men.

When we start thinking that Sarah Palin really has an honest answer we really have to check in to the rehab center. I think all she can do is mislead or misrepresent. We have good, qualified Republican women who can run for office. Who needs Sarah Plain? Nobody. We need to build a strong Republican party. It can not be done with a Sarah Palin quicksand foundation.

Sarah will not run for president. She is doing just what she planned. Using vulnuerable people to get rich. She is no longer middle class. She is a millionaire. Wake up people. If you take a close look at what is being written on her facebook, it sounds nothing like her. Someone else wrote her book and someone else writes on her facebook page. She says what she wants and rarely tells the truth. She doesn't answer to anyone and yet so many believe her lies. I personally would never support her because I beleive she is an opportunist. She campaigned on change, (in Alaska), she quit -- that is acutally change. She said she quit to help Alaska and has only helped herself. She is laughing all the way to the bank.

I have been following Palin and Clinton's every move. They appear to function with very practical insights. As a woman I am fascinated with the path that they are on. Such brave women, clearly made for days such as these.

We live in such uncertain times, one might even say desperate and dangerous times....A strong and honorable leader is needed more than ever. Someone whose desire is to protect America's freedom. There is strong evidence of the family being in crisis, marriage ripped apart, children raised with only one parent. It is not surprising that many distrust politicians who appear to continue down a self-motivated path. It makes sense that Pres.Obama was chosen by offering an alternative from tradition. And yet, he appears to be a MAN with self-ambitions and self-motivations that lack practical and logical workings.

Give me a strong and honorable man to protect me and my freedom, but if there is none to be found.... Let women such as these cry out for the preservation of our freedom.

When Anita Hill bravely endured embarrassment to prevent Clarence Thomas from being a Supreme Court justice, Sen. Biden cut her off. Since then, other women came forward with statements much like her own. Pres. Clinton very wrongly fired Surgeon General Elders. She advised widespread use of condoms. She also said children should be educated about masturbation. If that were done, there surely would not be so many teen girls "giving oral sex" & risking VD, or being impregnated. Many male lawmakers were recently exposed as being adulterous, spending family assets on mistresses. Their poor money management proves they should be replaced with the kind of women they betrayed--older wives who helped create those assets for the men to waste. As their children leave for college, those wives should to Congress and city councils to do "good house-keeping for the USA as a national home."

By the time we arrive at the next election I believe this Country will be ready for real change. Effective change. Actual transparency. A government that will commit to work for the people and not the opposite, which we surely have now. Palin is on the right track. Thank GOD.

I do find the sexism question an interesting one in light of the fact that a much larger percentage of GOP men than women supported Sarah Palin in the GOP race and quite a large group of women supported Hillary Clinton on the DEM side respectively as well.

I'm a middle aged man with a postgraduate education working for a large engineering university, and if she makes it far enough in 2012 I will be voting for Palin. She's tough and sensible, and is quite accomplished.

It's amazing to me how biased the press and the libs are against her. I've never seen such hatred. I don't care for Hillary Clinton and would never support her policies but I respect her and feel no vitriol toward her and I applaud her for her accomplishments. I believe the elite attitudes of libs and DC insiders and their snarly ways may just be exactly what propels an All-American Governor Palin into the White House.

Let racism and sexism die, and let freedom ring!

"Sarah was the "caribou Barbie," ripped apart by Katie Couric and lampooned by Tina Fey." We must have been watching different programs. Couric didn't rip anyone apart; she simply asked the same kind of questions of Sarah Palin that she would ask any aspiring vice presidential candidate. I hardly think asking about historical Supreme Court decisions, or even what periodicals one reads, can be considered outrageously difficult questions Still Palin couldn't answer those questions. As for Tina Fey, in general SNL took Palin's words verbatim. As a 64-year-old woman who has long been a feminist activist, I find it insulting that Palin attempted to complain and/or expect softer treatment by the media or the public based on her sex/gender. Bottomline: She lost due to her own lack of any substantive knowledge and merit.

women didn't want their daughters to vote for hillary because of

sisterhood. alot of us were not even for hillary until we saw

the debates and saw what a grasp she had of all the issues. she

cleaned the floor with her opposition. most women saw her as

the most qualified candidate and still think so.
