Bobby Jindal and the GOP Don’t Believe in Evolution

Bobby Piyush Jindal is a muslim who says he converted to Christianity. We Republicans will NOT FALL for that like the dems did. If we survive until 2012 under Obama, Sarah Palin is our only hope!

It's amazing the ignorance of evolution and even what a scientific theory is ("only" a theory) in the comments on this site - which goes far in explaining our depressingly low national aptitude in science and resultant grad. rate of engineers/scientists. Exactly what Jindal and the GOP rely on to get elected.

People - read the definition of each before you comment.

Buffie said: "It’s called the /theory/ of evolution for a reason. It hasn’t been proven..."

Nope, that isn't the reason. In science, the word "theory" is something that explains facts. Theories are not necessarily speculative and they may have a great deal of evidence and consensus behind them. For example, scientists refer to "atomic theory," but the existence of atoms is not in dispute.

John,

sorry to bother you, but I was wondering what's your degree in science? You see, I personally know two scientists who do not believe in evolution. It turns out that there are more than these two. In fact, there are quite a few.

My question to you is this: since you have set yourself up in this article as one who knows that intelligent design theory (a theory, just like evolution) is nonsense, what would you say to those scientists who do not believe in evolution? Would you cite your qualifications?

I doubt it, because you probably have none.

Thanks for the article, but it won't really have much impact because of the ignorance and obvious bias of its author.

OMG he doesnt believe in evolution?!?!? He's surely an idiot who doesnt deserve any chance at furhering his political aspirations, especially since we live in America where its one way or the highway. Yeah, screw Jindal and his stupid beliefs. Who ever said us liberals have to be tolerant to people we don't like anyways?

The future of the GOP: Bobby Jindal. Palin is not ready for prime time. She does not have the commitment to learn domestic & foreign policy issues. While Rush Limbaugh may like Palin, he considers Jindal the “next Ronald Reagan”. Jindal is bright (Rhodes scholar), young (37), articulate and a fiscal conservative. All of the others in the poll had their chance in the spotlight. They all look like the typical GOP candidates, old white guys with no new ideas or vision. The GOP needs to attract independants, Latins, and the youth in order to win. Jindal is the only choice. However, 2012 may not be his year, unless Obama really screws up. At 37 yrs. of age, time is on his side. Jindal will become President, the only questions is when.

The people in Louisiana finally have a very fine

governor, one who is trying to move the state forward on many fronts: ethics, health, education, etc, For so many years we have had way too much corruption in our state. That's one of the reasons the state rates last in almost every "good" list out there. With this governor we're finally making some headway, not in every facet, and maybe not fast enough to suit everyone, but still headway!

Now you want to come along and jump his case about one small part of the education system. A system, I might add, that at times seemed more dysfunctional than even our legislature, and believe me that is saying something! But to you the teaching of evolution is more important than fixing the base of the problem

Oops - made a mistake and not afraid to admit it - although I realize it opens me up to further ridicule about it not being my only mistake. I realized while driving in the car that I stated my year of graduation from college as 1982, but that was my high school graduation. I graduated from UW in 1986.

Mr. Jindal is a true sign that the end of times is near. What you see is definitely not what you get.

Instead of doing his job in Louisiana when all the paper mills are closing, he's in Iowa campaigning for president. He arrives in his helicopter after the International Paper company announces the loss of 540 jobs in Bastrop to offer his “condolences”. He announces a "secret meeting" of his handlers with "officials" at Smurfit-Stone in Hodge after they have already closed the plant.

He goes to Philadelphia to meet the president-elect, but won't answer phone calls from the press asking how he traveled there in the face of the stink about the three car companies privately flying to D.C. for a bailout.

He goes to Florida for the republic governor’s conference and the Beacon Hill Institute’s Competitiveness Report announces that Louisiana is next to last in attracting and retaining businesses that contribute to economic growth He ran the state health department and the American Public Health Association announces Louisiana is the unhealthiest state in the United States.

Mr. Jindal was awol when he ran the health department, awol when he ran higher education, and he's awol now as governor.

how does one so obtuse as yourself have the ability to contribue to US News.

Although a supporter of allowing local school districts to teach Intelligent Design, Jindal himself is a Catholic and believes in evolution; just as the entire catholic church endroses evolutionary theory (though 'guided by the hand of god')

please feel free to click around.
