During my years in New York, I realized increasingly of the parochial mentality of New Yorkers. They think there's nothing worthwhile outside of the 5 boroughs and they are the center of the world. If you get out of the city to travel a little, Palin speaks truthfully about the majority of American towns and the people who live there. She said "real" Americans not to exclude those who don't have that life but rather to illustrate the enormity of communities where people are nice to each other, where humanitarian effort is passed from neighbor to neighbor instead of being filtered through big government, and who take on risk to become a small-business entrepreneur while raising their family the best they can, with a balance of work, religion, and family. I think Obama is trying to relate to the "South Side of Chicago" to get the urban vote, because according to his own website, he didn't grow up there at all.

You must be out of your mind! We are talking about John Murtha, Marine combat officer, decorated Vietnam veteran, right? He doesn't have to prove his loyalty to me, or to you. And as for phony, smooth talking politician: are you talking about Sarah Palin, when she's coherent? Or John McCain when he isn't lying? No, that would render him speechless, I guess.

All you people that are bashing Repubs evidently don't have a life! Get real for a change! Obama has done absolutely nothing in the world of politics to prove he has the experience to run our massive government. He has been on one committee in the Senate in which he has never even had a meeting! If he can't manage a meeting in some little committee how can he have extremely important meetings to run our government? He never votes except as "present" on any "really" important issues. Yet he claims to have all these different committees where he was instrumental in changing this or that & the news people investigate & he was just a "very, very" small part of the whole ordeal! Talk about inflating your resume!!! He is the smoothest talker I've ever seen! And what gets me is he is exposed over & over again to have ties to people who are connected to terrorists groups & yet you people believe he is not like that. Have you all forgotten 911? I'm sure growing up your parents taught you not to run with people who were bad. This guy (and it's been proven whether you want to believe it or not) has been running with some pretty bad people! You are the company you keep! Even today it was exposed that Rashid Khalidi who was at one time head of the PLO (a known terrorist group) was a good friend of Obama's until 2003 when he moved away. He was so close to them that he even babysat Obama's kids. Of course you won't believe that because Dems can't admit to anything! And let's take the Rev Wright issue...20 years in a church and you don't know your pastor makes statement like Wright made! Give me a break! Is he incredibly too STUPID to be president or LYING out his teeth? I could keep naming off all the crazies, Farrakhan, Resko, Ayers but you guys will keep on denying. What a shame! Thank God I'm not a that blind anymore! Oh by the way...I've got some swamp land I'd like to sell ya!

OK........Here is the long and short of it.
Do you want to work a 12 hour day only to have 4 of those hours used to "spread the wealth"? I don't. I want all 12 hours in my pocket, that's why I work the 12 hours so that I can get ahead, not the guy next door that doesn't put in an 8 hour day or pay taxes
If that is what you want, then a vote for Obama is in your future. Frankly, I can't see working more hours for someone else. Oh but maybe we won't have to worry about the job, as I see it, if Obama wins the election the bigger company's will get hit with a tax hike from the Obama team, companies will be down sizing big time. You know the old saying, it rolls downhill. Layoff's are a coming.
And furthermore, Both campaigns are compelling. But lets get real here they are just words. We all know that America is in the crapper right now, and until the new president gets in there, they are not going to truly know what the extent of this mess is, so empty promises are what you are being given at this point. It's all in who you believe is the right person to lead this great nation. I personally want someone that has a little experience behind them, I don't want a newby. I am not a republican, I am a Democrat who like a lot of you are tired of the Bush Administration, however McCain isn't Bush and he happens to have the most impressive resume. Obama's resume just isn't there yet. He isn't seasoned enough in my opinion. And a vote for him will only open this nation up as a target again. I believe that those who want to see America fail are only waiting in the wings to test the new President. Do you want the new kid on the block in your corner, or do you want a coach that knows what it will take to keep you on your feet?
Ask yourselves this question "Who would you want teaching your children?" Someone that only has text book knowledge or someone that has both experience and text book knowledge?
I am asking the Readers to dig deeply into their innerselves and look hard at both candidates. Don't you see, we are the employer and we need to take responsiblity in who we place in a position to lead our Nation

Palin's "real america" is a dangerous place to go to, if not in reality then at least figuratively. Sure she has apologized, but the message has been sent, loud and clear, and it clearly reveals why she was chosen to be McCain's mate. The danger in her "america" is you aren't allowed to criticize your government, any form of dissent is unpatriotic and proof that you don't love your country. Do any Hispanics, or African Americans, or Asians live in the "real america"? Can you be gay or bisexual there? Are you really free in the "real america"?
The American dream is already on life support economically, and the republic will finally die from suffocation from their call to sit down and shutup, "we know what is best for you, Sorry, no dissent allowed, no criticism, you must be an America hater, America, Love it or Leave it". Our precious freedom, our Bill of Rights, extinguished by the demands of the Republican leaders to toe the line, Country First!. It's so fundamentally wrong, it's the attitude that our founding fathers fought against, only back then it was King First! I love America, I love that it allows me to say that it has been wrong. You can't do that in most of the world. I submit that dissent is also patriotic, it is an attempt to make a "more perfect union". To silence it, is to kill the very thing we want to keep and preserve.
The world is changing quickly, we must embrace our diversity of races and religions, open ourselves up to the world. Allow full expression of thought and dissension, only then can we retain our leadership into the 21st century and keep the dream alive for all of humanity. Otherwise, I am afraid we will be condemned to the trashcan of history. 232 years is a good run, but I think we should go for a 1,000.

Russell McClintock of CA writes that Obama says he is a Christian, but then says he has a clip of Obama saying "John McCain has not brought up my muslim religion." Russell, buddy, if you view the entire clip you wil see that Obama was not owning up to being a muslim, but rather, he was referring to the fact that McCain has not brought up the allegation that Obama is a muslim. Could anyone be so dense? No wonder the Republic machinery was able to get away with the biggest snow job ever perpetraed on Americans over the last 8 years.
I am amazed that there are so many people in america that lack analytical reasoning faculties. It's no wonder we are in such deep trouble.
I wonder if Republicans think only Republicans are Christians. God is neithera Rpulican nora Democrat. However, I am cnfident that if Jesus was working here today, he would do the things normally attributed to Democrats, such as caring for the poor, providing relief, that Republicans term "socialist" just so the aveage person will have a little bit of what this great country has to offer.
And perhaps Republicans should read the words of Jesus in Matthew, where he says "Judge not, lest ye be judged. For with the same measure that you judge others, so shall ye be judged."

Jennifer of AZ calls Obama a phony politician because he changed his position on drilling for oil. She clams it is because it is "what we want." She conclude from this that Obama must be lying. Hello? Has McCain changed his mind on anything? What about the attempted hijacking of Obama's "Change" platform? Wasn't it at the Repubican National Convention that McCain suddenly became the candidate for change?
As for Jennifer in AZ, At the time Obama changed his position on drilling, it is was summer, and gasoline cost over $4 at the pump. A reasonable person would conclude that a candidate who is willing to change his position on such an issue in an effort to offer some relief for the gasoline crisis of the summer was someone who was willing to listen to his constituency, and not a leader who is unwavering in his resolve, no matter how wrong the extrinsic vidence suggests his posiion really is. As for McCain "staying the course," are we talking about Iraq? Is there still any reasonable person in America who believes we should have gone to Iraq? Find anexcuse not to votefor Obama if you will, but do so at your own peril. People like Jennifer are willing to continue the failed policies of the last 8 years simply because Obama decided e could drill for oil if certain conditions are met? Real smart, isn't it? As for me, I already cast my ballot for Obama-Biden. There!!!

Rich Charles of SC writes that Obama was born in Kenya, and had Indonesian citizenship at one point, and only has a certificate of "live birth" but no birth certificate. What is the difference? And where does the certificate say he was born? I wonder if Rich did any research on this, or simply decided to relay what he read somewhere online. The media has been reporting over and over again that Obama was born in Hawaii, to a Kenyan father and an American mother. I wonder if Rich and others like him believes this to be a hoax being perpetrated by the American media, since he does not seem to believe the media at all.
I also wonder if Rich and others like him want to ask about where McCain was born. I do not believe that Panama was ever a territory of the United States, a treaty that permitted occupation does not turn Panamanian soil into American soil. I also wonder if Rich and those like him ever consider what a candidate goes through before he is allowed to run for president of the United States. Rich and his fellow intellectuals probably think that these candidates were not creened as to their births in the USA or on US territory, although I still question McCain's.
It would bemost helpful if people will make an effort to check their facts before disseminating falsehoods. I have tried to do just that. Forgive me if I have misstated any facts. No one is perfect.
