Obama’s 'Ground Zero Mosque' Comments Help the Republicans

Opening a mosque at or near Ground Zero would be no differant than if Nazis opened a gift shop next to Auschwitz as both idealogies deal with hate, intolerance, and death. While you at it, why don't we allow a skin-head "social" club across the street where Dr. Martin Luther King was born!!

What the PC culture will not report is this is really a war against an idealogy. Face some facts..the word Islam itself means “peace” IF (and this is a huge IF) when one “submits and surrenders” to their faith and (sharia) way of life. Otherwise, there is NO peace.

There are over a 100 passges in the koran, hadiths, and their suras calling for fighting and killing infidels. This is EXACTLY like their terrorist/pedophile founding prophet, their 1,400 years of history and yes, their ACTIONS!!

The evidence – the only evidence – proves beyond any doubt that “good” Muslims are in fact enemies of the free world is because Muhammad, Islam’s lone prophet and Allah’s singular voice, was a ruthless and dedicated terrorist/pedophile himself! Islamic militants, which are called ‘insurgents’ today by appeasers/apologists of Islam are actually ‘good” Muslims, not bad ones. The jihadists haven’t corrupted Islam, hijacked their religion, nor interpreted it incorrectly, and therefore they aren’t radicals.

Islam isn’t a peaceful religion; it is a declaration of war against all mankind. While bad Muslims can be moderate and peaceful, they have no influence because the koran tells good Muslims to kill them.

How is it that you muslim apologists and appeasers are so ill-informed about the ROOT cause of this terrorism that political, religious, academic, financial, and media leaders get away with such errant proclamations that islam is “peaceful”??

Wake up people…it is NOT a country we are fighting against, it is a idealogy that we have to fight because their teachings and history are VERY CLEAR on the subject!!

The President made a calculated decision to draw fire so the enemies of our Republic would expose their position. The GOP fringe and the Tea Party extremists have done just that. It does not help Republicans unless they can sway the majority of the public from the center to side with their un-American views that make Bush seem liberal. The President is gambling that given the stark contrast to reasoning, fair-minded and clear thinking leaders, the right will seem wrong. President Obama is giving Americans a clear choice. I for one, will never again vote for the goose-stepping, book-burning party of Ignorance and Want.

The GOP in reality has historically fought hard against racism and was the original party to support the side of abolition since even before Lincoln (the first GOP president).

What does the GOP stand for anymore besides stirring up racism to win elections. They sure have no solutions to current problems of the economy, joblessness, immigration, healthcare, the environment and the trade deficit. All they know how to do is stir up racism and obstruct Democratic Party legislation in order to create frustration and havoc to partisan advantage. The interests of the country are less their concern than their vulgar political interests.

First of all, the so called "ground zero mosque" is two blocks away in an innocuous, obscure private low rise building that used to be a Burlington coat factory retail outlet. They are converting this building to a community center with a sanctuary inside for prayer. The building will have no religious markings, no dome, minaret from which to publicly air calls to prayer. It will not look like a typical Mosque. It is not even visible from Ground Zero. It certainly isn't the "triumphal" "victory" Mosque racist tea partiers and GOP stalwarts claim it is. It is a modest building being leased and renovated by a long standing Muslim community in lower Manhatten where there already exist two other Mosques.

If two blocks away is too close, than why don't the GOP racists tell us how far away from Ground Zero it is acceptable to build a Mosque. The who issue is a disgusting red herring all the more so because there are strip clubs closer to ground zero than the Mosque will be located.

I also find it interesting that New Yorkers aren't the ones who are upset; 56% of those polled think the Mosque is a non-issue. The Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, a conservative and wealthy Republican Jew (who should oppose this if not someone like him?) also feels the Mosque site is acceptable and not an affront to American sensibilities. This issue isn't about the Mosque at all; it's about GOP racist agitation in an effort to defame Obama by association with the whole Muslim issue and to get Americans into an frenetic patriotic state of hysteria. The GOP is unAmerican. They are now the equivalent of Nazi propagandists and violent bigots.

The US has freedom of religion. It is now the only thing this issue comes down to. Most of the racist rednecks who are making such a big issue of the Mosque come from states where the residents had always viewed New York with utter disdain. All of a sudden, because this issue promises the far right so much political capital, they all now shout out loud and proud, "we are all New Yorkers NOW!!" It is a disgusting and opportunistic hypocracy, but also quite a transparent one.

I hope this issue dies the death it deserves to die. Obama was perfectly correct to support the right of peaceful citizens to lawfully exercise their constitutional right to freedom of religion.

He's a prominent American, and one of the most powerful leaders in the world. I applaud him taking an admittedly unpopular stance on the Islamic cultural center and mosque. even with his qualifying comments--which make perfect sense to me--his support of this project on the grounds of freedom of religion rings loud and clear, unless you are simply looking to be confused. No ambiguity there: it isn't a personal decision on his part, it's an American one.

Currently there are about 100 mosques in NYC. The ground zero mosque will make approx. 101. Build 101 chrisitan chuches in mecca first then we'll talk. And while you're at it, build a pile of 101 snowballs in hell and see which one gets done first. I'm betting on the snowballs.

I am amazed that Obama can be so politically inept. Every time he opens his mouth he helps Republicans and hurts his fellow Democrats. Obama recently visited Texas and NONE of the prominent Democrats in the state wnated to be seen with them.

What Obama said is true. The muslims do have the "right" to build their center on private property near ground zero. But that does not mean that it is the "right" thing to do. Obama expects non muslim Americans to be sensitive to the concerns of our muslim neighbors, but does not expect that muslims should be sensitive to the concerns of non muslims. Another sad case of religion causing conflict instead of healing.

The government says: "Put up a Christmas tree, and get stoned for free!" SHOCKING story at:
