Extending Bush Tax Cuts Could Be GOP Ticket to Victory
Tweet Share on Facebook July 23, 2010 Comment (6)Allow me to chime in where my bloleagues Robert Schlesinger and Peter Roff left off. They were responding to a new Gallup Poll which shows that registered U.S. voters now--by a narrow margin--prefer to have the Democrats in charge in Congress after the next election.

Studies Show Gel Helps Fight Spread of AIDS in Women
Tweet Share on Facebook July 20, 2010 Comment (2)It's great that international medical groups are making progress stemming the spread of AIDS in Africa. But our medical community here at home needs to get a clue as well and get on the vaginal microbicide bandwagon. HIV-AIDS is a worldwide epidemic, but in trials in Africa, where women have much less control over their own bodies than here in the United States, doctors are making headway against the spread of the virus. Catholic Church Equates Sex Abuse With Female Ordination
Tweet Share on Facebook July 16, 2010 Comment (36)I had to reread the first paragraph of the following story three times until I was sure I’d read it correctly. Immigration Reform Politics Should Scare Obama and the Democrats
Tweet Share on Facebook July 12, 2010 Comment (38)We have this news today from the National Governors Association meeting this weekend, courtesy of the New York Times:
In a private meeting with White House officials this weekend, Democratic governors voiced deep anxiety about the Obama administration’s suit against Arizona’s new immigration law, worrying that it could cost a vulnerable Democratic Party in the fall elections.
All I can say is, huzzah! The Obama administration has so bungled the immigration issue it is unspeakable. Mind you, the Republicans have not done much if any better. Both parties spend way too much time bowing to the interests of illegal immigrants (who come in all races and colors) and refusing to enforce existing laws or pass new ones limiting immigration to that which improves our environment and our economy.

Americans Borrowing Less, But Only Because Credit's Tight
Tweet Share on Facebook July 8, 2010 Comment (10)The good news--Americans are borrowing less. The bad news--the good news may be due to the fact that credit of all sorts is much harder than it was to access before the credit crisis.

Mayor Bloomberg Is Wrong on Illegal Immigration
Tweet Share on Facebook July 2, 2010 Comment (40)I beg to differ with Hizzoner who says we should essentially open wide the borders and grant amnesty to the supposedly 11 million persons who immigrated illegally to the United States.
