The Vatican defends capitalism & demeans socialism with its policy of public ownership of natural resources. Solidarity leaders praised themselves for destroying Communism in Poland. Lech Walesa was sent to form a Catholic labor union called Solidarity. Its focus was on shipyards, ports & other sites vital to Poland;s DIStRIBUTION SYSTEM that moves goods here and there. By calling strikes, Solidarity interfered with delivery of necessary goods & services. Because of shortages, Poles began to complain that shelves were bare. Then came the unfair claim that "Communism doesn't work." Poland fell back under control of the Church and of profiteering investors. The Vatican itself owns shares of stock in all parts of the military-industrial complex so it benefited from replacing public property with private property. Oddly, because Solidarity did work, Walesa lost his job at the shipyard when it went bankrupt due to the changes & loss of former state subsidy. US students are not encouraged to study Marxist economics, based on who owns the means of production -- so Solidarity is still praised by people unaware of Walesa's job loss he caused with his own successful efforts. What irony.

I can tell you there is certainly political corruption that goes on in this nation as well as others. The most frustrating part is dealing with the fact that people that have not conducted themselves honorably and did not obtain their office honorably are not held accountable for the their actions. I did not agree with all of Jimmie Carter's policies, however, I believe he will go down in history as one of the most honest and honorably elected presidents this nation has had. There is something to be said for integrity!!!!

I have read about this lady before, but it is surely wonderful to read about her again.

She deserves the attention.
