I am so tired of ppl bringing up the things that ppl in government did when they were young and just starting out in life. We all have made mistakes and we all have done things we are not to proud of. So why is it so different with ppl in power then ppl on the street. Its not like they did it recently before being elected. Most of these things they did happened so long ago why does it matter anymore. They were young and did things like u and me. We should look at how they are now. Ppl change over time. U can not hold there past against them for stupid mistakes or decisions. Would u want someone to dig up something u did as a teen and use it against u. Or something u did in collage. I'm sure most of u can remember doing something when u were young or in high-school or collage that u would not want to be publicized today. PPl change over time. They are not what they were back then. And most have grown older and wiser making better decisions now then when they were just starting out in life as an adult. If u ever decided to run for government would u want them to bring up ur past of something u did as a young adult and publicize it to the world. My thoughts: It is not relevant now so why bring it up. This is a way to discredit ppl. Everybody has done something in life that can be used against them later to discredit them. Leave the past in the past unless it's something that can hurt the nation. Leave the pity stuff alone. Everybody has skeletons in there closet.

President Barack Obama unveiled a budget projecting a record deficit this year, with billions of dollars to curb unemployment and tax hikes on the rich to tame big fiscal shortfalls. For more information check http://www.videocrux.com/video/19363/Obama-unveils-budget-for-tough-times

Decreasing the deficit and increasing jobs is an oxymoron is those who think the government is the answer. The answer is to create an environment where business can thrive and prosper so hiring more workers, so that more taxpayers are paying into the system instead of taking from the system. It is not that difficult. Lower taxes or at least stop pushing tax increases on the job creators and stop the instability of government hyper spending and power grabs (banks, car companies, health care?) In other words the opposite of Michigan, New York, California and what Obama's administration.

Private industry is in the tank and the greedy bankers are not lending to anyone, so governments are the only entities that can create jobs, thanks to this Great Republican Made Recession.

Jaye of WI obviously failed Econ 101 but he's par for the course with all the dishonest conservative wingnuts.

Like the Great Depression, also created by Republicans, government spending is the only way out to revive the economy.

Government cannot create jobs, all they can really do is either hinder job growth(by taxes and regulations) or create an enviroment that will promote job growth, but they cannot create it. Those who think other wise need to go back to school and learn about economics 101.

Jaye of WI 1:08PM January 28, 2010

Yes, I do believe that government is often better than much of (not all of) the private sector at creating jobs that sustain whole communities and regions. Here in New Mexico, the economy has been humming along for decades with MUCH, MUCH, MUCH help from several military bases (that may or may not even have the most "necessary" missions) plus two huge national labs that create and maintain the nation's nuclear weapons. Then, of course, there are the schools, the colleges, the state, the cities, the counties, the courts, the prisons, and all the health care facilities that run on patient demand paid for by various government programs. WHO ELSE IS HIRING THAT MANY PEOPLE AT DECENT WAGES AND BENEFITS? Walmart? McDonalds and Burger King?

Muser of NM 9:55PM January 27, 2010

Come on Muser. Do you actually believe Erbe that government deficits is what keeps America prosperous? What is your rational? Why do you think government is better at creating jobs than the private sector?

Keep defending Obama, this is actually fun to watch. No matter what this radical/leftist says tonight he has an undeniable record and the teleprompter will not save him this time.In case you need a reminder, THIS IS BARRACK HUSSEIN OBAMA.....Van Jones,Anita Dunn, man/boy love kevin jennings, axelrod, limp wristed Rahm Emanuel (by the way that dude needs to tone it way down),Rev. Wright, Doran, Ayers,ACORN,Flager, million dollar dates,Air Force 1 flyovers in New York, slammed by olympics, slammed by New Jersey,Slammed by Copenhagen, slammed by Mass.,largest deficit in world history, tax cheat Geitner, terrorist friendly Eric Holder, withheld the white house guest list, lied to our face (I will run the most tranparent presidency in history)..NEED I GO ON.

This my friends is Obama as seen through the eyes of almost every American, except of course ms erbe and the other worshipping radicals.

The President should do what he's been doing - only stronger.

We need another stimulus package now. Private industry is in the tank and isn't creating any jobs no matter how many tax cuts you give them. The government is the only outfit that can get credit to create jobs right now.

Appeasement to Republicans is surrender. Forget it. Forget Congressional Republicans, we all know they don't want to do anything. Screw these obstructionists knuckleheads anymore. All the partisan rancor from the right is more negative do-nothing excrement and the GOPers are doing nothing in the interests of the American people anymore. Forget Roff who never has offered up any but anti-Obama rhetoric with his opinions for sale but never offering anything to help the country. These are the same clowns who did the cheerleading for Bush and the republicans to tank our economy.

Enough with the "America Last" Republicans! The President should move forward an invest in America and ignore the Republicans wingnuts who don't believe in investing in the US.
