oh I thought we were discussing the Obama campaign?

well anyway if nudity is like transparency -- apparently Senator Brown doesn't have anything to hide {unlike perhaps certain other aspiring politicians}

but perky little Katie Couric & other "sweetie" journalists certainly aren't shy about drooling & swooning over Obama's bare abs

no doubt the Prez is wishing he were back on the beach in sunny Hawaii right now {or perhaps the GOP can lend him some time in their toasty tanning beds! no wonder they NEVER get any work done in Congress}

as for poor Martha Coakley - she's probably drowning her sorrows down in the carefree Caribbean - again

oh well - anyone up for some hot buttered rum in smowmageddon Washington

Male politicians who cry, get angry, pose nude or have a history of gogo dancing and run for President or some other high office are admired and encouraged.

Women politicians who reinforce stereotypes about women or counter stereotypes about women (who are strong, ambitious, decisive, passionate) ALSO LOSE. Kind of the virgin/whore stereotype/dichotomy.

The system is set up to keep electing male politicians.

Not double standard of CA 4:57PM February 05, 2010

It's a sexist stereotype not a double standard.

Women politicians lose when they (or critics) reinforce a sexist stereotype against them.

If they cry (male politicians who cry are sensitive and care for their constituents), overreact or get "emotional" (angry male politicians are "passionate" and righteous), pose nude or participate in a beauty pageant (reinforces "dumb" "bimbo" stereotype), run for higher office (women politicians are cold, calculating, self-involved while male politicians are ambitious and admirable) and so on.

Scott Brown's nude posing and gogo dancing counter male stereotypes and make him appea MORE SENSITIVE AND APPEALING as a civil servant.

Not double standard of CA 4:47PM February 05, 2010

Please refrain from using the word naked, especially when the word appears next to a picture of you. The unfortunate fool that puts those two things together is likely to face a life full of mental torture. Just another example of your irresponsible journalism.

We voted for Scott Brown, a man of principles - a man who has an excellent reputation with his constituents - why, believe it or not, he is actually CONCERNED about THEIR CONCERNS!

No one who has lived under the Kennedy/Kerry senatorial leadership in this state can say that either man was CONCERNED about the concerns of the great unwashed knuckle-dragging ignorant masses who reside in 'their' commonwealth. Their arrogance knows no bounds. 'Don't we know who they are'????? They are the all-knowing individuals who will tell us what we need to know...so we were told to just go sit in the corner and shut up as they spent OUR tax $$$ with abandon!

And, guess what, we were really pretty tired of that attitude and we saw it being displayed time and again in Scott Brown's opponent. Her arrogance was out there for all to see and hear, not once, not twice, but over and over again.

Scott Brown is a man we are PROUD to say is our senator!!! Now, for heaven's sake, let him take the oath of office so he can begin using that common sense he is bringing to Washington!

January 26, 2010 President Barack Obama, President Joe Biden, and their administration are not liars. The Republicans, their constituents, and the public who do not support President Barack Obama and his administration are liars. Pres. Barack Obama, Vice-Pres. Joe Biden, and their administration are doing everything possible to remedy, save, and sustain this wounded economy that the Bush (Republican) administration created during their past reign.

Many Caucasians need to cease blaming Pres. Barack Obama for all the economic problems in the U.S. because he has some black blood running through his veins. (He is not responsible for the slow moving economy.) Caucasians need to realize that

Pres. Barack Obama is doing triple, quadruple, etc. work in bringing this economy out of the worst recession we have experienced.

Caucasians voted for Pres. Barack Obama because they were angry with ex-President George Bush (which is pretense). Caucasians wanted a gape goat and someone else that they could blame for the failing economy. Caucasians were afraid to confront ex-Pres. George Bush and his administration, who gave away 80 billion dollars. Caucasians, who comprise most of the Republicans, were against Pres. Barack Obama from the beginning.

The Republicans want to see Pres. Barack Obama fail because the Republicans and their constituents would prefer to see the country in economic chaos and ruin than see (witness) Pres. Barack Obama succeed in bringing the United States' economy into recovery and prosperity because Pres. Barack Obama has black blood running through his veins. The Republicans and their constituents are racists, the devils, and they hate anything affiliated with black blood even though Pres. Barack Obama also has Caucasian (white-synonym) blood running through his veins too.

Republicans and many Caucasians really are not worry about the economy because they are too concerned about trivial issues, such as who is whiter, prettier, or richer. Caucasians have permitted this phenotypical trait to dominate their history and economic affairs from the beginning of time right up to the present; so, Pres. Barack Obama, Vice-Pres. Joe Biden, and their administration are not going to change the Republicans' minds and their constituents within the next few hours or overnight. Republicans, their constituents, and most Caucasians are not going to cease criticizing and harassing Pres. Barack Obama until his Presidency ends in four years. Republicans and most Caucasians do not even laud Pres. Barack Obama even when he does excellent and superb endeavors and works.

Therefore, Pres. Barack Obama, Vice-Pres. Joe Biden, and their administration should govern the United States righteously, with God's blessing, and according to God's laws. Pres. Barack Obama and Vice-Pres. Joe Biden should not worry so much about people's ideologies so long as their decisions, philosophies, and judgments are derived from/dictated by God.

Bonnie, explain away the fact that the Independent Voters of Mass. united and won the victory for Scott Brown. Go ahead with your narrow minded debate of believing that America has not only wised up but diligent in doing their homework. This has nothing to do with partison politics!!!! You speak as if we are a nation of spoiled, ungrateful, and idol idiots. Meanwhile times are tough and we are working any 7 dollar job to make house payments, feed our family and pay bills. Wise up!

So he posed for Cosmo when he was a college student, big deal. Cosmo was hardly on the level of even Playboy, remember Burt Reynold's nude Cosmopolitan centerfold? Topless men are not nearly as racy as topless women, even if you see everything but what's usually covered by their underpants. You would have seen more if he posed in a speedo, so chill out!
