Bonnie Erbe: "Were there things that could have been done at the time by the Bush administration to have prevented 9/11?"

What kind of stupid question is that, Erbe? Do you imply that Bush had a chrystal ball and could foretell the future and 9/11? What you should have asked, is "Were there things that could have been done by the Clinton administration to have prevented 9/11?" The resounding answer is yes. But no. Clinton's milquetoast response to several terrorist attacks and his abject failure to do anything is what emboldened the terrorists. It's what Bush had to clean up on his watch.

Bush, whether you like him or not, should at least be given the credit for his resolve, and taking action when everyone stood around and wrung their hands and said, "Oh my!"

It is he that deserves all the credit for the safety we've had since 9/11--for crushing muslim fanatics.

Napolitano's comment of "The measures we have taken . . ." Disgusting!! Taking credit for what exactly? Really, Napolitano, what have you done other than park your butt in a stuffy chair?

we are going to need to be chasing them around the world. We owe that to the 9/11 victims (including all of us who were economic victims on that day), to the victims of other terror incidents, to every service person and service family who have sacrificed in this effort since 2001, and to our country so that political power does not flip-flop back and forth between liberals and conservatives on nuance over which will best prosecute the effort.

That much is true BUT ,Al Qaeda like the AIDS virus , has/will morph till we tag them both for good .The BUSH doctrine did pay off -so don't bother to blather here about collateral incidents or stockade guards getting carried away ."Note to your mother" Napolitano, maintain these safeguards or we will bear the brunt of your ego/ biased deciscion making.
