"squeezing some young people out of the workforce" how are they "squeezing them out" if the boomer has been holding down the job as a career?

Maybe this younger generation needs to learn some work ethic in order to compete with "old people".

Not a little anti-senior bias there?

There's much more that need to be said about these trends. Boomers do need to work longer. Retiring at age 62 is too early.

With the new economic conditions, we all need to develop simpler lifestyles -- boomers and Gen X and Y.

This could mean more part-time work for all age groups. And it's a good think. Not a us vs them situation, such as you've described in the article.

You need to look at this issue in more depth.

Hey Andy of MO

I hope you take A lesson from us Baby bloomers and instead of staying home on the nights that you have city counsel meetings you go see whats happening Because it is hard to stop a train quickly if it is on the move.

The courthouse should have the schedule if not the city hall does. maybe even get yourself a Grass roots group going so you can be prepared for city counsel and town hall meetings.

I'll remind you it was a LIBERAL president who had a budget surplus. The idea that republicans are actually fiscally responsible is a joke.

Sure, baby boomers got sent unjustly to a war in Vietnam (WWI AND WWII were not fought by Baby Boomers). Is it fair to send my peers to two equally unjust wars?

Baby Boomers have left the country in a nasty place, and my generation is going to have to pick up the pieces.

The root word in Conservatives is conserve... Think about it...

As for your peers who have lost their lives and are still fighting in our 2 current wars (total of less than 5K lives lost so far)... you must have been sleeping in your history class when they were teaching about WWI, WWII, the Korean war and last but not least, the war in Vietnam. I think about a total of between 1 million and 2 million lives lost in those wars...

You are one sorry progressive crybaby... grow up!

Transportation To parks, fishing And other activities for the elderly might save money, Because the young people coming out of College have more debt than they know what to do with and they need to work to pay off those debts hopefully before they retire.

I know they say life is unfair but this is America why is America unfair, Because of the American dream that squeezes out the little guy because of A monetary system that will fail! And then what do we do, we do not know anything else but greed.

We need grass roots groups all over America so we can figure out our future. This is America We can work it out peaceably.

First you guys run up a crazy debt that I am going to have to pay off. Then you keep electing conservatives who drag their feet into the ground on anything progressive. You start wars and send MY peers to die for you, and now you take our jobs, because you never saved a dime.

But we're the generation of entitlement.

more than plenty of money, don't walk away from group health insurance until reform is passed and implemented---something that could be years away, even if Obama is successful.

Medical risks in the pre-Medicare years are not a small matter in the present reality of private insurance.
