So it's ok for parents to get tax deductions on their children, but not people with pets? So make money on your children but not your animals? makes perrrrrrfect sense.

I think this is a great idea! As far as the comment about pets not being able to contribute to future revenue, my feeling is this: Only 60% of the country even pays taxes. I would rather have a tax cut for my pets than to have the money spent on people that are too lazy to work. I also think that you should not be able to own a pet if you are on welfare. If you don't have enough money to support yourself, you should not be able to own pets at the tax payers expense.

There are many different types of tax deductions, this is one that can benefit everyone no matter what tax bracket you are in. Pets are very important in many peoples lives, including my own and to care for them properly can be very expensive. I am a taxpayer and I work two jobs, I do not receive many tax cuts, in fact I pay more because I work two jobs so this would be a great help to me and many others

I don't know what to say, really. That was the dumbest post I have read yet. Not one point or valid argument, just defeat.

Hope you don't get the H1N1, the vaccine is made in chicken eggs. The abortion of poor little chickens.

I bet you buy free range chicken from the grocery store.

Free range chickens. That still cracks me up.

oh i almost forgot i have to explain

free range chickens do not exist, they live in coops.

too funny

Animals are smarter than YOU, is what I said. I'd like to say your devout insecurity leads you to the need to parse intelligence, but you aren't even THAT smart. You simply believe that if something doesn't think in the same manner humans do, it therefore has NO intelligence, awareness or value and deserves no compassion or humanity, nor the right to live. Tell me, did YOU create animals? Did YOU put them here to experiment on? No, I didn't think so. If you are so keen on experimenting on sentient beings, why not volunteer.

Many animals can learn several words of any language they are exposed to, including sign language.

A statement proving your complete dumbness. Many animals? Chimps can learn sign language yes. Parrots can talk to you no.

You think your bird really talks! Your hilarious.

They aren't learning genius, they are simply mimiciking you.

I don't think the bird is dumb for pecking the mirror, like i said its pissed off at the other bird. I think you are dumb for saying: Someone like you who is so fearful of life has a vested interest in assuring himself that animals are brick-dumb. One day, if you are lucky enough to break out of your self-imposed, insecure, egotistic blinders, you will find that awareness has many flavors and intelligence of all kinds permeates all life, including animals.

What does this even mean?

I am sorry I told you the truth about animals not loving you. Or even caring, that is unless you have food.

One day, if you are lucky enough to break out of your self-imposed, insecure, egotistic blinders, you will find that awareness has many flavors and intelligence of all kinds permeates all life, including animals. You think an animal is dumb because it pecks at a mirror... I wonder what do you think about people who hit a tiny ball around a grass field, or stand in a ring and punch one another in the face. Many animals can learn several words of any language they are exposed to, including sign language. Yet we have significant trouble understanding any form of language or consciousness that isn't our own. Animals are extremely intelligent, many of them more intelligent than you, judging by that post.
