I see do difference is either party, far left or far right. When in office they both spend money we do not have like drunken sailors..I should know,as I was a sailor myself--Bob

Can you imagine anyone associated with US News & World Report circa 1989 writing anything remote as shallow and obtuse as "Righties take deeply principled stands on the crucial issues of the day, but decide the rules don't apply to themselves whenever the whim strikes them"?

We have to be careful as old media brands decline and fail. They were always biased against the right, but the clinging remnants inhabiting them today are incompetent, too.

I love how bonnie assumes that the majority of righties are like Dick Cheney. Please, take a good look at American history. The Democrat party has been one the most radical parties to ever exist in America. Points to all the extreme liberals in Congress right now. These people are so extreme that they make Clinton look like a conservative. Also, in my opinion, President Obama is far worse than Bush. He has already broken 154 campaign promises in the first 200 days of office. Break that record, I dare you! And don't even say that it's because of the economic turn down and all the different obstacles that he's had to face. In just 6 months in office, Bush had to deal with one of the worst attacks to ever hit America. We lost billions of dollars in the two World Trade Centers and not to mention, the amount of money we had to spend cleaning up and fixing everything. Also, Bush inherited a pretty serious recession, which occurred at the end of Clinton's term (before Bush ever even entered into office)-the economy was in really bad shape and still President Bush didn't break nearly as many of his campaign promises as President Obama so don't even give me that excuse, he's not qualified and you were decieved into thinking that he had all the answers and that he was. If those extreme liberals would only admit that they played a role in this economic crisis than I would back off, but they still refuse and continue to lie to the American people. It was and still is there responsibility to regulate, implement and monitor our economy (thats the legislative branches responsibility outlined in the U.S Constitution). Where were they when greedy bankers were giving out hefty fraudlent loans to people who could not afford them (think Federal Reserves Bank and it's connection to Congress)? Also, was it not the extreme liberals in Congress who were responsible for placing pressure on banks to give out these loans because it meant that more people could buy houses and live better? Funny they did not take responsibility for this nor did President Obama mention any of this during the 2008 Presidential Election. Instead, President Obama seemed to suggest that it was the Executive Branches as well as the greedy banker's fault. Do you think that he was ignorant in his statements (look back at the presidential debates to see for yourself) or do you think that he had intentions of purposely misleading the American public because it would help him win the elections? He knew that people were outraged by the economy and that money was and is significant in people's lives. I believe it was absolutely intentional. Only ignorant Americans accepted this with out checking the facts and researching the responsibilities and the crisis at hand. Many Americans were decieved as they are now. Stop hating on conservatives because your alternative is no better, in fact, it is far worse.

how many of you have nothing better to do than rant and rave about President Bush and Dick Cheney, and belittle them. What is even more odd, is that most of you really do think your opinion matters.

Put this in perspective: they ran the country and you are a lowly bug on the windshield of life. Deal with it.

Its YOU, ms erbe that annoys me to no end...you and your ego driven drivel and never ending hatred of all thats Right.

Dick Cheney should be writing memoirs locked up in an jail cell. If it weren't for the doctrine of American exceptionalism the entire Bush Crime family would have been given a fair trial, and then sent to prison where they belong.

Randal Davis of OR 7:30PM August 13, 2009

Geesh, wish Cheney had a mirror, then he'd quit his love affair with himself
