In Garfield hts. oh a black man was investigated for removing items from his aunt's house. He had permission from the POA who is his mother. He was investigated for two days. His friend who was in the house with him was not investigated....the friend is white. What's this tell you.

The problem is blacks have a chip on their sholder.
Maybe he should sue but I doubt it was Race.
White people are treated like crap by cops too and it's not race. Many cops are just jerks. i have been stopped and searched when I was a teen. My best friend was beat up by cops during an arrest when we were drunk. It was not race, cops are often just bullies. Every time it happens to a black they think it is race. They don't realize it happens to whites too. It may be a problem with Police in general but the probelm is not all race and is probably only a small percentage race. Many guys decide to be cops because they are bullies and like to hit people and abuse them. They don't care what color , they just want to hit. I think it is much better now than in the old days.
I don't think this Gates case is police abuse, I think it is a loud mouth arrogant rich guy with a chip on his sholder.But I heard the Attorney General talk about how he was searched when he was a college guy and how embarassed he was. The exact same thing happened to me and I just concluded that cops are jerks.
I am a 60 year old sucessful businessman. Last week on my way to dinner while I was traveling, the police stopped me and tested me for drugs, and alchol. It took about 30 minutes or more and I Never Drink or touch drugs. It was not race but if I was black , I could have easily claimed that and got all mad . But it was just life. People need learn the difference

I would have fully cooperated with the officer and thanked him very much for responding to a possible burglary of my home even if it was my house! If the office was following protocol , which I believe he did, then no problem. The only race profiling I see was done by Gates himself.
I have heard of racist cops that have done bad things to individuals. I don't believe this was a case like that. Black people don't realize how much they increase racism by their not looking at both sides in such a incident.
Not just black people have that chip on their shoulder. Many whites do also. I learned that its best to stand back and look at both sides of the story. It's not easy, but has better results.
Gates could have done much good if he acted humbly thus getting everybody on his side!

Obama demonstrated he is still a community activist at heart(with $500,000,000 in campaign funds) who plays the race card automatically.
If the police officer was black and he shot a white Harvard professor by mistake - you wouldn't hear Obama say he acted stupidly.
He wouldn't say anything at all - because with him, and Jessie, and Rev Wright, it is always a one way street - the black guy is a victim and the white guy is the villian - or it isn't worth discussing.
Glad Obama made this gaff - eventually the majority will know what everyone in Chicago already knows.
