Sarah Palin Proves that Not Only Liberals and Feminists are Whiners

You don't hear it much anymore (praise be!) but there was a time when conservatives described feminists as whiners and sourpusses. There are whiners and sourpusses on every side of every political argument, just as there are comedians, wise-crackers, and happy faces. Now, finally, a conservative publication has opined that there can be female whiners on the Right, too:

When Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin announced her resignation two weeks ago it was after a series of strange, petty bouts with her detractors. Many "frivolous ethics violations" had been alleged against her, she noted. David Letterman had told an ugly joke about her daughter. A blogger had posted something that was probably not true. Someone had photoshopped a radio talker's face onto a picture of her baby — a "malicious desecration" of the image, in the words of Ms. Palin's spokeswoman.

...

Indeed, if political figures stand for ideas, victimization is what Ms. Palin is all about. It is her brand, her myth. Ronald Reagan stood tall. John McCain was about service. Barack Obama has hope. Sarah Palin is a collector of grievances. She runs for high office by griping.

Wow, apparently you are unfamiliar with the idea of an opinion columnist who does not "opine" for an entire publication..... and you are totally unfamiliar with who Thomas Frank (the one doing the "opinining") actually is, since he is the token leftist writing opinion columns for the Wall St. Journal's Op-Ed page.... so presenting him as representative of that "conservative publication" is about as accurate as presenting a William Kristol column as speaking for that "liberal publication" the New York Times.

It is fascinating to watch the mental contortions of people on the left who first subjected Sarah Palin and her family to the most scurrilous, vitriolic campaign of character assassination in our time, and now continue the obscene propaganda campaign by seeking to discredit any and all attempts to criticize what has been done here. Orwell's description of "3 minute hate" sessions is characteristic of what shameless leftists have inflicted not only upon the Palins but upon anyone who does not buy into the politically correct agenda. In this case the hysterical "3 minute hate" sessions are launched endlessly anytime her name is mentioned or she dares to make any public statement.

If anyone on the left had a sense of shame and decency left it would be possible to have some interesting debates about policy..... but being a socialist has come to mean simply an endless series of angry character assassination against anyone who disagrees. btw, why is it that US liberals are so ashamed of the "socialist" label? If you really believed with confidence in the moral and economic superiority of your ideas then you should wear that badge proudly. Instead, any accurate description of the US Democratic Party and its supporters is raged against, because the left knows that they only win elections by committing fraud upon the American public.

This comment site asks for discussion of a very serious topic--Can Creationist Pro-Life Crusader Palin become U.S. president? If she did, she'd pressure Congress to nullify Roe v Wade. Since 1973, it has had time to increase the number of students who stay in school after an abortion. Before Roe, they would become dependent on taxpayers as single moms who can't afford diapers because Daddy's gone. She's so poorly schooled that she actually believes the world is less than 9000 years old. She's on record as saying she saw human footprints inside fossil dinosaur tracks, and that's a proof for Creation. I see her as the kind of person who can used by "persons behind the screen." Very much like Reagan. Near the end of his presidency, it seems Alzheimer's began to show itself. People began to ask whether he remembered giving orders or whether people acted in his name and didn't tell him. i think someone spotted this moldable tendency in her and she was brought forward as VP.
