Schumer's Right: Illegal Immigration Is Just Plain Wrong

Back to blog

For thousands of years people have migrated from one place to another. When a migration starts, for reasons of war, hunger or whatever, that migration has not been stopped! Now, the Mexicans are migrating north in search of better living conditions. Whether Gringos like it or not this migration will continue until the US has become "brown."

No amount of your lies, whining or interdiction will stop this migration so just get used to this "browning" of the US. Besides, a lot of white women like Mexican men so there is no need to change the 14th amendment to the constitution. Mexican men will have children with white women and these babies will be US citizens born of US white women but still be considered culturally Mexican.

All of you ignorant, right-wing Gringos should study history if you can read, which I doubt.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

"The Mexican illegal immigrants are a drag to the economy of this great nation. As a citizen I find it strange that they enjoy "benefits" that I don't have. One illegal told me that he has to have a baby every year because the government provides free medical services and food stamps. This upset me because I am uninsured citizen.

Mexican illegal immigrants can not be compared with the European immigrants because the latter, once here, they became part of the melting pot.The former are warriors in the Third World War-THEY ARE HERE TO CAPTURE RATHER THAN BE PART OF THE SYSTEM.Or how would anyone describe people who work for less, give birth yearly, do not so much interact with other races, have less desire for higher education, do not want to learn English, etc?

I legally migrated to this country from Africa and have interacted with immigrants from all over the world who happen to be hard workers and great achievers but Mexicans seem to have different agenda.Having more of these people here is unnecessary! ...."

So is your country a drag to the world economy.....I am surprise that coming from the poorest continent in the planet you dare to put down mexicans.......most of them work for a honest dollar and know many of them that have a higher degree of educationthan you do.....besides it amazes me that coming from a line where once were slaves you have no sympathy for their situation......SHAME ON YOU!!

BEEN THERE, DONE THAT....NO MORE AMNESTY'S

No amnesty of any kind for illegals ever again. Why should illegals get rewarded with citizenship after breaking so many laws to get here, stay here and work here? We were promised in 2 previous amnesty's (1965 & 1986) that our country would not end up with millions of immigrants, that our gov't would enforce laws. None of that was done and now we have 20 million illegals to deal with. NO MORE. Our politicians have proven that all they do is make false promises. They have no stomach to do the right thing and enforce our immigration laws and send those back who enter illegally. They are now too PC and are afraid they may upset an illegal or their racist advocates like La Raza. Plus the Dems really want those votes so they will pander and kiss butt. Obama needs to pay them back for their support, ie, voter fraud. Our Gov't needs to drop the hammer and be tough with people who flaunt our laws at every turn and rip off this country.

HEY AMERICANA from Illinois WRONG the politicians didn' t promise they enacted a LAW tha CITIZNES DID NOT ENFORCE YOU GET IT!! SO it is not only upto the gov only bu all citizens.......you don appear to be an individual form a developed country and don't understand the issue your comments are that of a third world country you must be one of those "americans" that the europeans laugh when tthey see you in Europe.................

Maybe we should be stingy in our praise for Schumer's recent "get tough" statements on illegal immigration. His past statements and stances show that he is hoping to combine a hoped-for amnesty (which when and if it happens is an accomplishment that can't be undone) with a promise of tough future enforcement that he knows is almost certain to remain unfulfilled. It will be fait accompli traded for an empty and insincere promise. And in that, it much resembles the brave rhetoric and sad reality of 1986 (IRCA).

We have to insist that the only credible claims to be in favor of tough immigration laws and enforcement come from those politicians who demand enforcement today -- not tomorrow -- and against the current cohort of illegal immigrants, not just those who arrive after the cold fact of amnesty#2 tells them in far clearer terms than Schumerspeak that, after a brief spasm of tough talk, US immigration laws needn't be taken all that seriously.

We're hearing some of the same blunt but empty talk from the President. To Katy Couric's recent question whether illegal immigrants should be covered under a new health plan, he answered with a flat "No" (then followed with an exception for children). But he is also solidly on record for "comprehensive" immigration reform, which will include as its primary feature amnesty for those he says should not now be covered. Are we to understand that once "illegal" status has been switched to "legal" the health delivery system will be required to treat them much differently than other Americans and legal immigrants? In addition, and similarly, the House health legislation will likely include a provision that illegals are not covered -- but won't require the verification that would be necessary to deny coverage to the ineligible. In discussions of healthcare costs that shouldn't go unchallenged.

European immigrants built and developed this country as their home. Many illegals are here to work for less dollars and send their earnings back home.

If iillegals who crossed the southern border are naturalized a citizens, we as a nation will have succeeded weakening this country socioeconomically because we shall have imported many uneducated people who are not ready to learn English. Our welfare system will be overwhelmed and wages will drop.

No amnesty!

Immigration from Mexico is compared to european immigration in the past and said by many to be no different.

Sciences such as physics, chemistry and calculus did not exist 3000 years ago but were

created by mostly europeans over that period of time.

Without chemistry there would not be a pharmceutical industry.

Advances in science and math made the industrial revolution possible and it was started in GreatBritian anb spread to other parts of europe and the U.S.

The industrial revolution is what made the U.S and advanced industrialized and wealthy

nation. Cars, trains, airplanes, steam engines, gas engines, jet engines, most anthing

electrical or electronic most any technology in the world exists because of the advances the

europeans made and brought to the U.S.

The europeans are what made this country excel in science and technologly and create

the worlds best universites and the largest economy in the world

Mexico is a county of great scientific and tecnological nothing.

If the U.S had been created by mexican it would be just as bad a place as Mexico.
