Bethcha she's not a fan of capital punishment, either. Problem is, in the long run, it's an either/or situation.
Frankly, I doubt that a person who has killed nearly three dozen pets even "can" be rehabilitated. He would certainly be a difficult case.
But if you put this guy in prison, you had better keep him for life, preferably in solitary--unless he gets some treatment. Because his mental state at the moment makes him a dangerous dude---inside or outside. Do you think your marijuana-possession and DWI inmates deserve the company of this guy? Do you give a hoot?

There are some things individuals can do things about and others we cannot.
Have we become so hardened that all columns need to be of the "save the universe" variety or can we not muse and agonize about things like the kid in Florida who needs to have his parents pay for therapy?
