I asked this question the day of the event. Meanwhile, Bush climbed up on a slab of concrete (were bodies under this heap?), put his arm around a fireman, and became a hero. He used this moment to take away our rights. And where was the media? Behind him 100 percent. Will Obama restore our rights? Doesn't look like it.

Could the attacks on the Twin Towers have been a
retaliatory/pre-emptive strike t cripple the US to stop an inevitable invasion that was scheduled for October, anyway? Unocal/Maresco testified in 1996 or so that the most prudent thing for the 'oil' was to go through Afghanistan....

The very idea that Dick Cheney could somehow convince Saudi nationals to kill themselves by flying US airliners into the the twin towers is monumental in it's stupidity. I do really question if a US missle hit the Pentegon in efforts to take out the next impending ATTACK though.
We all know the inaction taken by Clinton despite the terrorist attacks on US interest. Al-Queda and Osama in particular were determined to "not be a threat". The 911 attack was meant to bring the US to it's knees and if Gore had of been our President, I believe that's exactly where HE would have been. I was not crazy about Bush when I voted for him the first time but he impressed me by standing up and doing something.
Either intentionally or un-intentionally, GWB provided "stimulus" to the US economy already through military action and the (to me) scary Dept of Homeland Security and managed to keep the US economy strong for 7 of 8 years.
Short-sighted and ingrateful Americans have now chosen another pacifist that will likely give our enemies time to plan the next attack in 2012.

"It is not inconcievable that Cheney was the planner behind 9-11. The more I read and watch documentaries about secret cabals in our government whose quest for power knows no bounds,the more I can believe that Cheney et al was behind the terror attacks on America."
If this is what passes for critical thought these days, my best guess is that we're all dead. It was a great country until Jan 2009, the beginning of the end. Glad I won't live long enough to see it, but it saddens me greatly that my heirs will be living in a socialist hell hole populated by idiots like this fool quoted above. Shameful.

Does this intellectual void actually believe that a terrorist attack of the complexity and magnitude of 9/11 could be planned and executed in the 8 months GWB was in office? This twit is intellectually vapid, and too lazy to read the history and facts behind 9/11.
If this is what passes for thoughtful discourse in our current era, we are doomed. The ignorance this 'author' displayed is one of the most frightening things I've ever encountered. This isn't merely liberal stupidity...this is dangerous. We expect liberals to be stupid and ignorant, we don't expect them to be provided a venue to distribute their moronic 'thoughts' to Gullible-Americans.

However, before you go home, please do stop at the library & read the most recent demographics on the projected growth of the Muslim population in the world, including our beloved USA! If this doesn't change your opinion on 9/11, you are a hopeless cause!
