A Modest Proposal for the Coleman-Franken Minnesota Senate Race: Flip a Coin

I don't hear Coleman asking for a "do-over" election. He knows he would lose by a landslide. Perhaps the people of Minnesota should give the disgruntled clown Coleman the consolation prizes of oversized flappy clown shoes, baggy suspender pants, a shirt flashing "I'm Number One" with bright red LED's front and back, a wild long purple and orange streaked wig, "Joker" face makeup, and, to just add panache, a bottle of seltzer to squirt at Democrats. He's already a laughing stock around the country. Why not dress him appropriately and let him "do his thing" at malls around the state? No one would think any the less of him.

The courts have consistently ruled that Al Franken received more votes than Norm Coleman. In fact, with every challenge Coleman makes, he loses votes. It's time to stop playing political games and holding up the process of getting to work to fix our economy, deal with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, provide healthcare for everyone, stop global warming and more. Coleman's refusal to accept his loss shows his disdain for both the American people and democracy. He's had his run and his day in court- it's time to move forward.

Franken has been declared the winner twice. Coleman has never been declared the winner -- except by himself. On election night Coleman said if he had lost he would not waste the taxpayers money with appeals. Please Norm, follow your own advice.

No one, with a functioning cerebral cortex, would vote for a cretin like Al Franken - This guy makes Nanny Pelosi and Harry Reid look good,

Franken-stein... (really, check out the face and imagine the guy, electrodes in the neck, lurching forward, arms outstretched, in a too small jacket - test tubes gurgling and a Jacob's ladder sparking in the background). Now picture the guy sitting in the U.S. Senate - oh wait, maybe he fits right in...

The unofficial vote count on election night by the media had Coleman up by about 700 votes. Then after double checking election night tallies excluding "unresolved issues" with a significant number of votes his unofficial lead went down to 215 votes. The first official count was by the canvassing board which said Franken was the winner by 225 votes. The election court contest added some votes that should not be have been excluded and Franken won by 312 votes. Franken has won the official count. The court exhaustive and thorough ruling has declared that he received the most votes. They stated it was a fair well executed election. Please stop being so dishonest by suggesting that Coleman was ever the winner of the vote count. Only the election board or the court can make that determination. It is factually false to say otherwise which makes it a lie. Stop using the small margin of victory as an excuse to overturn the results of this election. Yes flipping a coin in Coleman's favour would be overturning the results of a valid well run election. It's a terrible precedent and suggesting it shows a complete disregard for the election process and democracy in general.

Full Disclosure I voted for Franken and after personally meeting him a number of times feel that he will be an excellent Senator

Keep counting until Franken is ahead then stop. We should all be concerned that there are too many elections that end this way....A close race where the Republican wins then a recount then we find some mysterious votes, then count again until, finally the result we are looking for. It is happening all too often. It's a total shame that a 2nd rate comedian would even come close to enough to trigger a recount but that is where we are. If Al Gore didn't put a stop to it, for the betterment of the country, I fear it would have ended in the same way.

This is the Bleak House of 2009. No one wins but the coffers of the lawyers. I hope that's enough for Minnesota -- this shouldn't be standing in the way of the democratic process.

Butt out. Franken won, based on the meticulous recount dictated by Minnesota law. Only a Coleman sycophant would suggest that Franken give up his legal victory for a coin flip.

If you want to make a useful suggestion, why not suggest that Coleman admit that he lost, quit making frivolous challenges, and start preparing for his upcoming criminal trial?

Need to let it play out by the Law!Recount and do it right this time.

COLEMAN IS BEGINNING TO LOOK LIKE THE CLOWN, WITHOUT EVEN BEING FUNNY......What has he to gain -except rights to lobbyist status?
