Obama Rally Prayers Are Dangerous, Bush-like and, Typically, Pandering

My USNews.com colleague Dan Gilgoff has revealed that President Obama has produced a presidential first: his public rallies and events will start with invocations that have been commissioned and vetted by the White House:

Though invocations have long been commonplace at presidential inaugurations and certain events like graduations or religious services at which presidents are guests, the practice of commissioning and vetting prayers for presidential rallies is unprecedented in modern history, according to religion and politics experts.

This is a dangerous, unnecessary and (in typical Obama style) pandering move that will do more harm than good.

I'm unclear on the motive here, but most likely it was to try to draw religious conservatives into the Democratic party. It's not going to work, as is any of Mr. Obama's bi-partisan rhetoric. A new Washington Post/ABC News poll shows Republican support for the President is about half what it was just recently:

Only 37 percent of Republicans approve of how Obama has handled the presidency. By contrast, 90 percent of Democrats and 67 percent of independents approve of Obama's job performance.

You can't please all the people all the time. Republicans are right to argue that if they tried injecting as much church into state as Mr. Obama's prayerful introductions are going to have, they'd be ripped to shreds by public outrage. As well they should be! And so should the Obama Administration. Didn't we get enough government religiosity under the Bush Administration? And didn't we suffer enough as a result?

Let us remember we are "One Nation Under God," and as is printed on every monetary denomination "In God We Trust." Is this unconstitutional? Is this dangerous?

President Obama prayers are NOT dangerous. This is a Spiritual matter.

I pray blessings upon everyone reading this blog, that each know that Jesus loves him/her and that each gives their heart to a Glorious and Holy God. This same God made possible the election of our Christian President whom I believe is not trying to accommodate the religious right, nor be unconstitutional but to honor God from whom ke knows all of his help comes. Psalm 121:2, My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. Yes, he is obviously political however, I believe he is spiritual first, not religious, trust me, that is a Good thing.

You would be amazed at how many people are praying for our president via the Presidential Prayer Team, www.presidentialprayerteam.com. Prayers are definitely needed for President Obama and our nation. The Word says in James 5:16b, The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. I hope you are praying for him, too.

Having lived during the assassinations of the Kennedys and King; I fervently prayer that God keeps a hedge of protection around President Obama, that He provides President Obama with wisdom and knowlege to lead our nation and that President Obama guardian angel is always with him.

I was shocked and saddened at this article to know that in the survey over 40% percent not supporting President Obama's implementation of prayer before all of his events, we as a nation need to read II Chronicles 7:14, If my people who are called by My name will humble themselves, pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked way, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. I pray that the people of our great beloved nation will pray and seek God's face, especially in these times of economic, education, health and energy crisis. May God have mercy on all of us and bless the United States of America with a revival throughout this land.

Blessings to all, love you in Christ Name.

II Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
