Jonah Goldberg: Death Beats Irrelevance

When I was a teenager I once asked my father why he faithfully read U.S. News & World Report. His answer was that it was the only news magazine that he trusted to deliver unbiased and in-depth coverage on important issues, especially politics. When I became an adult I purchased a subscription based solely on my wise father's words. He would roll over in his grave today if he knew the nonsense, half-truths, distortions and one-sided coverage his trusted magazine now publishes. Because of Erbe's irrational arguments that lack any common sense I have decided not to renew my subscription when it expires. I simply cannot take any more of this hipocritical, juvenile playground antics that lack any basis in fact.

Why is it that Bush's approval rating was the 2nd highest of any president in history when we started the war, but after people started dying, we want to prosecute him? Seems pretty extreme. Unfortunately the media and journalists like this one cause America to be like herded sheep in their views

It is discouraging to see what type of "journalists" and opinion makers we have cultivated in this country. I would say to Ms Erbe that the financial crisis we have now cannot be attributed to Bush alone. The most dysfunctional Congress since the Civil War has played a prominent role in today's landscape but none of your shallow writings reflect this. Prosecuting the current administration would be a fool's errand and cost a huge sum of money we don't have to waste on assuaging your sensibilities about blame. The world is moving too fast and we have wolves at the door we have to attend to instead of putting Republicans in a legal hole and torturing them for your amusement at enormous taxpayer expense. It will serve no purpose. I think some of this post-election whining and melodrama in journalism is due to a post-traumatic disorder where the left wing now finds itself in a vast wasteland and no legitimate targets of opportunity - only postscripts to its former euphoric, agenda-driven postings. MSNBC is still trashing Palin for crying out loud. It's over. Get a grip and do your job and start scrutinizing the next administration and remember there is supposed to be integrity and a conspicuous absence of bias in what you deliver to readers.

,that President Bush did not lie. He and every elected Democrat in the 1990's and early 2000's said and believed that Saddam had WMD's. Ms. Erbe is a despicable person because she attributes a willful and malicious act to President Bush when at worst it was a mistake that even the ENTIRE DEMOCRATIC PARTY was guilty of also.

I'm sickened by the hate and the lies and the dishonesty with which elected Democrats used people like Ms. Erbe to get elected. They knew she, and those like her, were the liars but they remained silent and let the lie that "Bush Lied, People Died" go on.

President Bush has been smeared by disgusting people like Ms. Erbe for 8 years, but history will show that she is the liar and the dishonest person. Not President Bush.

Wouldn't it be nice if posters actually had to SPELL to get their messages on the comments section?

On the other hand, it does give the reader a sense of the IQ of that poster.

Saying that Democrats also thought something does not erase the 100,000 dead Iraqis, and 4000+ dead Americans. GWB is the most destructive president ever. No one died from a BJ.

I am grateful the Goldberg linked to Ms. Erbe's entry insisting that President Bush be prosecuted because it gzve me a chance to, once again, remind a leftist of the history and what DEMOCRATS IN THE 1990'S SAID ABOUT IRAQ AND WMD'S!

Sorry for the caps, but I had to shout that because it's clear to me that Ms. Erbe has a very large memory hole which she shoved every uncomfortable comment by Democrats about Saddam and WMD's.

I take every opportunity to tell people like Ms. Erbe that she is a disgusting leftist who is simply repeating a lie that "Bush Lied, People Died."

Glenn Reynolds has a video in his archives of various Democrats and what they said in the 1990's and early 2000's about Saddam and his WMD program. But Ms. Erbe has conveniently forgotten that is was WORLDWIDE CONVENTIONAL WISDOM that Saddam had WMD's, had used them, and would continue to build more as soon as the sanctions were lifted.

It is dishonest people like Ms. Erbe who have created the political climate in this country right now. She and others like her have poisoned the debate with lies, smears and blatant dishonesty.

BTW, I've never heard her until Goldberg linked to her idiocy.

I know BGE is not dead.

She is able to speak, write, and has brains.

So does Goldberg.

Paulson, Frank, Pelosi, Reid, and Kennedy, the High Court and most governors and their legislatures: they try to prove that they are alive by constantly messing things up.

And what of former president Carter?

And the sheiks who lost $3.5 Trillion when the trashloan markets fell?

Woof, I say.

We are on shpilkies, we say.

Jonah Goldberg is a self-absorbed smart aleck who, all by himself, inspires many of us to be lukewarm to the Israelis and all Jewish causes. NOT because there is anything wrong with them but because of what HE says and represents. He hurts his own people with too much mouth.
