I used to enjoy reading your column occasionally. I'm an open minded person who is predisposed to considering other points of view. However, this absolutely SENSELESS massacre of a well-intentioned (if at times misguided) man who had the misfortune of dealing with FAR more than the average President is beyond me. I think it's incredible that this guy has the guts to claim avoiding another 9/11 style attack as his greatest accoplishment. I mean, come on, if that counts, then all the preceding 42 presidents should be considered to be even better than Dubya. After all, they can claim to have avoided any 9/11 style attacks for more than 200 years. Then this guy comes along and claims as a great achievement the fact that during his presidency there was only one 9/11 attack. Maybe he couldn't have done anything to stop Bin Laden who was determined to strike in the US, but come on, stop bragging about the failure to protect the US on 9/11.

Ms. Erbe, I love how your first sentence is fundamentally incorrect. This is not the second largest recession that this nation has had, it is the third. And don't you forget that.
You know, I really wished that Ms. Erbe would respond to some of these comments, it would be interesting to see her debate someone over the internet who would almost certainly understand the issues, and history, better than this intrinsically foolish woman.

Ms. Erbe, you speak for MANY Americans when you say"Good riddance to bad rubbish"! Americans are relieved Bush will be soon gone and the adults can get back to work rebuilding this great nation that Bush took down in flames with impunity.
