Hillary Clinton to State or to Senate Leadership?

Meanwhile, there are more than a dozen lawsuits questioning whether Obama is eligible -- Is he natural born citizen? Did he become a naturalized citizen after he was Indonesian citizen?

Two of these are with Supreme Court justices, and another has been filed by Alan Keyes in California. And yesterday the Kenyan ambassador to the US told 2 radio people that a marker would be erected on the lawn of the hospital in Kenya where Obama was born!

If he's found ineligible before Dec. 15, would the DNC name Hillary to replace him, with electors voting for her on Dec. 15?

According to a CBS report on exit polls, 16% of McCain's votes came from Hillary supporters -- at least, from people who said they would have voted for Hillary if the contest had been Hillary vs McCain. (In that case the Democratic victory would have been larger: Obama won by 7 points, Hillary would have won by 11.)

Exit polls couldn't count Hillary supporters who protested by staying home from the polls. Maybe a follow-up telephone poll will give us some idea how many did that.

In early summer 3 million Hil's were planning to vote for McCain, 4 million to stay home. Later polls (Pew iirc) said this was holding steady, Obama had "made no progress with Hillary supporters."

Hm, Hillary's signature women's and children's issued trickling-in from the international world to finally reach the US? Could happen maybe ... and would at least help the world.

Runs in the blood, eh? We all know that money, power and priveledge run in the blood....just ask those who seek same positions, with experience, but without name recognition. Over half of the country just voted for a person(Obama) without those early benefits, because the majority is sick of our country being ushered by a small percentage of the population.Chelsea seems like a bright, well adjusted person.....but beyond her "my mom is,like, great" stump speech, she has shown no obvious interest in, or desire to work for others. Indeed, she has experience only in the financial sector. Again.....whatever.

The 18-million-vote argument is wearing thin. I think it is pretty safe to say the majority of these votes went to Obama in the general election. It is also pretty safe to say that if Clinton was not offered this position, there would be equal--if not greater--amount of howling from the Hillary supporters.

A man (or whoever replaces her in the Senate) is equally capable of fighting for women and children's rights. Hillary is indeed a pioneer, but the definition of a pioneer is that she allows those who follow her to realize the dream she couldn't. Martin Luther was a pioneer of the Civil Rights movement. Obama is the realization of his dream.

I'm not at all worried that Obama will not appoint women to high posts. I don't think others should be, either.

this is what they said

Nazirmo's Chelsea nomination

Whatever. Being smart, and living in NY qualifies you for a Senate seat? That means there are millions of potential senators in the state. Ah, but their last names arent Clinton.

When Tim Russert passed away his son got the job and he has done a tremendous job so far and has the charisma. Politics can sometimes run in the blood.

Even in Canada the late Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau's son Justin recently won a seat in Parliament.

He is good looking and also quite an excellent speaker.

Chelsea can do well if given the chance and this is on the assumption that she would want to try for the senate seat vacated by her mother. Let us wait to see if Hillary does become the Secretary of State. We will only know after thanksgiving. 57% polled believe that Hillary would do well as Secretary of State. I think she would represent U.S well in foreign countries.

Post election we look for actions that might provide a glimpse into the potential of “change” arriving with an Obama Presidency.

I understand that Hillary Clinton is an accomplished woman, but stop with the syrupy "she is owed" platitudes. How many other losers of the past democratic primaries have beneifited from this sense of entitlement that surrounds her? She is a junior senator, and something like 38th is senority. She is a former first lady,a hard working Senator, and a great advocate for the rights of woman. Aside from being first lady, and a Clinton, there are others who match that discription. Alas, you also think Obama should pay her bills.Clinton is , and has been compensated very nicely for her service to this country. She has made a TON of money, and is treated like royalty. Poor Hillary.
