How about this. Choices made to fill positions by ability and experience rather than by sex or race. How about that ? If that ires woman than so be it. The thought that sex or race would be used to determine a choice of nominee im sure would anger both men and/or woman and that choice WOULD BE WRONG...

He is 100% FOS and will prove the only change he intended was the name of the president. He is clearly dipping deeply into the Clinton Whitehouse for "change"?

America has been hoodwinked, and I supported his change. But I'm not liking what I'm reading or seeing. Especially from someone that wants women promoted, or people of color simply because they are women or people of color.

We need CHANGE and that means get the BEST people not the best people that fill the chart in the most politically correct way or people that aleady were a part of previous false change promises.

I wanted him to come in and say something like "I'm going outside the beltway for my advisors, enough of this insider work that has us in so much trouble"

Not going to happen. Maybe next time I guess.

PRESIDENT ELECT OBAMA

AS A BLACK MAN, AND A MOVIE PRODUCER LIVING IN THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO, I HAVE TO SAY, I WOULD FEEL VERY BETRAYED BY YOU, IF YOU SELECTED HILLARY CLINTON OVER GOVERNOR BILL RICHARDSON FOR SEC.

OF STATE!!!

GOVERNOR RICHARDSON WAS THE PIVOT THAT CAUSE YOU TO WIN THE HISPANIC VOTE! HE TURNED HIS BACK ON THE CLINTON'S TO SUPPORT A MAN WITH A VISION FOR THE FUTURE.

PLEASE DON'T TURN THAT VISION INTO POLITICAL FAVORS TO PLEASE THE POWERS THAT BE!!!! NO ONE HAS MORE EXPERIENCE IN FOREIGN AFFAIRS THAN BILL RICHARDSON; FORMER "U.S. AMBASSADOR", NEGOTIATING TO FREE AMERICANS UNJUSTLY HELD IN PRISONS AROUND THE GLOBE.

NOT TO OFFER HIM THAT POSITION WOULD BE A DISSERVICE TO THE COUNTRY, TO HIM, AND TO YOURSELF!!!! DO THE RIGHT THING!!!!!

IF WE WANTED A 3RD.

CLINTON ADMINASTRATION, WE WOULD HAVE VOTED IN HILLARY!!!!

"CHANGE, NOT ASSIMILATION "

As a 57 year old black woman, I say to President-Elect Obama, "Please pick the best, the smartest, regardless of gender or race. I want success first, diversity as a natural off-shoot. Please no more identity politics!

Why on earth is it insulting for Michelle Obama to call herself, ¨Mom in Chief?¨ If she was forced to be a stay at home mom then I could understand being offended...but she is making this decision on her own. And isn´t that what freedom is all about??

So, you just lump Jews into the "vanilla" bucket....Last I heard they are considered a minority group in the USA and that one can be charged with "hate crimes" for perpretrating forcible aggression against them for solely being Jewish. In general terms, I found the whole Feminist Agenda thing pretty archaic and anachronistic. Why can't women who are the best qualified be considered instead of a quota system?

Silver Bear of CA 1:56AM November 19, 2008

Let's hope that Erbe's "Gender feminism" is like quickly replaced by a more reasonable and enlightened "Equity feminism."

Just like Obama talks of the Joshua Generation of Black Americans, we women need to stop advocating preferential treatment, portraying women as victims in need of advancement, and instead hold fast to a viable form of feminism.

Our rights will not be advanced by putting a woman in as Secretary of Defense just because she's a woman. Women will be empowered when the most powerful choice for Secretary of Defense IS a woman, and she is chosen not because of her gender, but because of her qualifications ... regardless of gender.

Thank you 2nd Generation for getting us so close to the Promised Land. It is our turn now. We are not looking for our token spots, we just expect full civil and legal equality and the opportunity to serve and lead.

Obama is inheriting a presidency that is probably more troubled and facing more difficulties than any president since FDR's time and you're fixated on...how many women he may or may not have on his cabinet? And if there are not enough women, you advise "women ought to be taking to the streets in fury"? Really? Is that your biggest issue of the day? This has to be the most egregious case of navel-gazing I've seen in quite awhile.

Will you be out there, taking to the streets in fury, too? Or just, you know, armchairing it? Because we'd all love to laugh at your gross self-indulgence.

Obama has not been sworn in yet. He is facing multiple crises. And the nation is either at a turning point or a tipping point--we'll soon know which. So why don't you get a hold of yourself and focus on what is most important for this nation: The best people in the right positions.

This is a serious time for serious people, so when you have something worthwhile to say, do let us know. Until then, could you please keep quiet?

I say enough of this PC cr*p already. And I'm a brown-skinned Democratic female.
