Or, you can accept the idea of an eternal, benevolent, creator.

Which one sounds more like a religious leap of faith to you?

The creator is the leap of faith, of course. Who created the creator? And if creator's can "just be", why can't universes?

Science has given lie to all the specific, immediate claims of religion and the pious must continually push back what they "know" to be true. But note the pious dont' just believe in some deistic creator claims, they believe very speficic claims about what God did, what he wants, etc. based on revelation and it is from that any belief in a possible vague creator flows. If you people made any attempt to familiarize yourselves with the state of scientific knowledge instead of resting on your pre-existing biases, maybe you wouldn't be so ignorant as to parody the scientific account of origns so laughably.

Doesn't everybody have right to religious freedom?

Who are we, to say she should not have taken money from some one who don't believe. After all the person gave the money to her and know where it was going towards, so!!! Who is right here? Some one who believe and don't give or some one who don't believe and give?

Christian: Christ like

What is Christian about misrepresenting the truth? If Dole didn't know her ad was a lie, why then did she change it?

A political fundraiser by John Kerry was supported by 39 other people. One of them was a member of the Godless PAC. The Godless PAC did not give one dime to Hagan. Even if the Godless PAC was an issue worth discussing, the happenstance of being one out of 40 is not a real issue. Think about it. Now candidates have to worry that the "wrong person" with the "wrong ideas" is going to be at a party your attending. I would have thought that the Christian thing to do would be to embrace the godless and persuade them -- not try to avoid contact at all costs. Godless sounds like a pretty good description of Dole and her actions here. I think if Christ was here today that he would say, "Stop the hatemongering and the fearmongering."

How sad for the entire country to see a respected politician seek to gain votes by slandering her apponent's religious faith.

It says so much, sadly so, about the character of Mrs. Dole.

To challenge Hagan's faith. What kind of person would offend God in this way?

Proud that Hagan responded with the simplicity of the ninth commandment.

Asumming Dole loses I would expect this ad should end her political career. Let this hateful attempt for personal gain be remembered.

Enough evil exists in this world.

Love and tolerance are the answer.

I was always under the impression that a state senator represented ALL of the citizens and not just those that are hand picked on the basis of religon or race. Now, if I am correct in that assumption, then Mrs. Dole represents those of the North carolina population whos faith, or lack there of, does not coincide with hers. To suggest Kay Hagen is Godless is simply silly-after all are we assume that because Nixon or Bushs 1 or 2 were Republicans that she MUST think as they do? Are we to believe that she is as imbued with a lack of political values and decency as George Bush JUST BECAUSE she's a Republican? So I guess we are to believe that Kay Hagen must be Godless because she associates with those who Libby considers to be Godless? Libby and her husband have both associated with Bush a lot-so they are the same as him??? HMMM some flawed logic there. Especially since both Libby and McCain are trying VERY hard to distance themselves from Bush and tell the world they are different.

Bottom line-nothing is sadder to watch then seeing what the realization that cloying hand of the Republicans is slowly but surely being pulled off of the stick of control does to these so called "Honorable Senators"-When you get to the point that you need to invoke God to make your point-you've already lost.

Elizabeth Dole acting like a fruit loop. Its sad to see that whereas her husband made a viagra ad seem dignified, Elizabeth has reminded us that minds can fail as well as bodies and there is something more embarrassing than sexual impotence. Its mental and ethical impotence.

It is so sad to see how she has fallen. The God she worships is now political power.

I think that all candidates in these races should stop using the television for candidate bashing. This year it has repulsed me more than anything. I think that each candidate should get out and speak to the public and use the newspapers. The candidates would use less money from campaigning and we could use our common sense whether to read it or not. Stop bashing people and start speaking to the people with your heart. I would more apt to vote for a politician who did not bash their competition but spoke from his heart. Too me, if all these candidates are bashing others, they have low standards. Why America, do we have to settle for less instead of the best.
