Sarah Palin's $150,000 Wardrobe—GOP Donors Should Ask for Their Money Back

I don't hear you moron's complaing about the $75,000 in tax payer dollars that Michelle NoBama's trip is costing. I would think with the economy being so bad, that the money could be put to better use!

I heard and read about the GOP's plans to donate Sarah Palin's $150,000 worth of fancy clothes to a consignment shop and then donate to charity the money from those clothes. Does anyone know when (or IF) it's going to happen? I'm worried Palin will try to hold on to her expensive outfits, hoping the controversy will disappear now that the election is over - but I hope that thousands across this nation who care about the poor will make their voices heard over this issue. This is your chance to bring some good out of the mistake you made, Sarah Palin. Check your selfishness and do the right thing. WWJD?

Absolutely ridiculous! To think that Sarah Palin's wardrobe could buy 2-3 of the middle class' homes out of foreclosure!

McCain and Palin are a joke. I am a registered Republcan and for now will never vote Republican again! God help the United States of America - the world must be having the laugh of it's lifetime!

Obama supporters who trashed Palin from day one are ranting about her wardrobe and other petty matters, while an anti-American Socialist / Marxist racist is about to highjack our government, with the help of voter fraud, and a corrupt biased media. You'd better wake up America ... or, this country is about to experience an ugly 4 year long nightmare under Obama/Biden !!!

It's not so much the clothes or their price -- though it is telling that the RNC felt Palin needed to be cleaned up and provided with new clothes to be deemed presentable. Remember, she's a big fan of Patagonia -- which is probably what prompted the RNC to decide she was a walking wardrobe malfunction.

High-end chains frequented by the very wealthy, yeah, that's "moral substance" applied to fashion. Especially when the buying was done for Palin and her family, not by her.

The most outrageous item is the RNC spending tens of thousands of dollars on make-up and hairstyling for McCain and Palin. She doesn't strike me as the sort of person who is incapable of doing her own make-up (former beauty queen and all). Was the RNC fretting about a repeat of Nixon's bad experience with Pancake #2? Did they assume people would love these two because they were made up by stylists from populist TV shows?

The RNC must be banking on people having the IQ of a banana.

That money spent on stylists would have been better spent on "an educational trust fund for the poor or some other charitable cause." Or perhaps more attack ads?

If the GOP donors aren't concerned with the wardrobe bills, why are the left-wing so concerned? The mainstream media is helping their liberal illuminati buddies out by making a big deal out of Palin's clothes. Last I checked, her clothes are destroying this country, the economy is.

What a joke!

Sarah Palin has turned what could have been a very strong campaign into a complete and utter farce. Thank you Sarah!!

EXACTLY!! Tremendously upsetting. And she's so CLUELESS she doesn't even begin to comprehend this.

How in heaven's name does one spend that much on clothes?? Even with designer suits and shoes- $150,000 is a LOT of dough on duds. That money could have been used to send her daughter to a first rate private college if she hadn't chosen to drop out of high school. Short sighted choices all around...

Dear of,

Your said

"Look at the vast sums the Dems spent on their convention which personally I thought absolutely outrageous and consequently have not contributed another dime. The VP nominee should have a good wardrobe and compared to other types of campaign expenditures, it is fine. "

The Democrats spent their money on the convention IN AMERICA. Guess who's carpenters, electricians, convention workers and stores benefited? America's.

How many of the clothes purchased for Ms. Palin originate in the USA?

Please explain why the Republicans real workers should contribute to their party so their VP candidate can buy her daughter an $800 purse?

Ms. Palin's shopping spree would have been enough to buy Joe the Plumber's entire house at $150,000 AND pay half his yearly salary!

What happened to the cloth coat of Pat Nixon? Good thing Ms. Palin is not an elite. No telling what she would be spending then!

Joe C.

As a democrat I appreciate your advice.

Is that what Republicans do after their campaigns?

I thought Republicans gave their money to the poor... banks.

Oh wait. Republicans give taxpayers money to the poor banks and other charitable causes such as AIG.

Tell you what. I'll do it when you do it. Fair enough?
