Bush to Environment: First Do More Harm

This is only a precursor of what's still to come from the Bush Administration as they head towards the door. Stay on high alert til Jan. 19th, 2009!

It is too bad the author could not justify why the endangered species act in its current form is so successful. I might buy the argument that it shouldn't be changed due to the saving of numerous animals and preservation of habitat.

Oftentimes regulations or more regulations fall into the realm of unintended consequences.

Here is an article with at least a couple facts instead of platitudes and Bush bashing.

Put two oil men in the White House and you get an administration that does Big Oil's bidding. That's what's behind Bush's assault on the environment. Check out www.shameonbigoil.org to learn more about Big Oil's influence.

Wake up folks, these are the polices Bush ran on in 2000. He is keeping his promises to remove or destroy all environmental protections and regulations. And he has done it. I absolutely hate this man for what he has done against the environment. This is treason against the planet, its creatures and ultimately human kind. Its time to arrest and place him and Cheney on trial and a public hanging. Americans are so stupid, they will march and vote for McCain which is more years for the republican cronies to lay waste the planet in the name of progress. More Wal-Marts, more Tanks, more pollution!

"I just checked the facts, obviously you didnt. AZ has 558.9 sex offenders per million where VT has 440.4. They are both high, honestly."

Now, this is my last comment to you, but I feel compelled to respond again because you're calling me a liar, like that guy ds. Actually, you have 2400, as of 2006. Of course, that number is much higher, now, and that is only including those that have registered. So, if you divide that number by 500,000, .05% of your population is a pedophile. Arizona has 14,000 registered sex offenders. Divide this by about 6 million, the population of AZ, and .002% of Arizonans is a sex offender. So, per capita, Vermont has more sex offenders than AZ. Your state has less people than AZ, therefore your percentage is higher. So, you do have more pedophiles than per capita than Arizona does.

"So lay off Vermont, its heaven on earth. Maybe you should visit before you end up puting your sweaty foot in your mouth again."

Why is it necessary for me to visit Vermont before I make comments on it? And how long do I have to visit before I become qualified to make comments on your state.

"Once our environment is clean, only then will we be a fit example for other countries to follow. Bush wont even sign the Kyoto Treaty. How do you expect India, Pakistan, China, Brazil to clean up their act on our command when we dont even follow the rules ourselves (thanks to the bush administration)."

So, we have to become obsessive compulsive in order to be an example to other countries. By the by, those countries don't particularly look to America for leadership on the environment. They care about their people first and alleviating poverty through growth, not by idiotic government mandates from other countries. By the by, your favorit president Bill Clinton and his neophyte, pompous vice president Al Gore didn't sign Kyoto either.

What a load of garbage. The ESA has singlehandedly impoverished huge communities. Big green such as earth justice and other law firms and environmental groups with built in law firms routinely use it as a cash cow for their legal actions and judges routinely violate constitutional principal to enforce it.

It is about time someone did something about it instead of escalating the damage to the human element this poorly based and may I add sunsetted law has wrought on America's people.

In 30 years this law has provided for millions of lawyers and biologists, but only recovered a handful of species. What does that tell you.

"let me remind you that if it werent for Vermonters you'd be living in Mexico right now paying taxes to the British."

No, you have your current state confused with the state in the mid 1700s. Sorry, there is no equivalence.

"You are wrong about the predator thing, lets see some quotations here if youve got a source. and I tend to agree with DS, Arizona would be my 50th choice after Puerto Rico. Oh wait, maybe 49th after Texas."

See above, sir. But of course, it's a matter of public record. You can do great things by passing Jessica's Law, too. But you probably won't do that.

I don't know why you're insulting the state of Arizona. I can be happy living in any state. I just happen to not want to move. But I definitely won't live in VT. The closest I'd live in a blue state would be Mass, but then I'd probably move quickly because of the high tax burden.

"Anyway. We only have one earth. We all have to share it. How could one not see it as wrong when one party depletes the earth for profit all the while effecting the air we breathe and the water we drink. animals aside, our earth is in peril. Driving your SUV is ok, you have that right (and your wifes ****** is probably a catholic clown car so you NEED a suburban). But you should also see what else you can do like changing to flourescents, mowing only at night, inflating your tires properly, working from home if possible."

More insults. Wow, you guys don't argue on merits, you insult. Congratulations on your evolution. Anyway, we have one Earth, but I don't know of one party that is depleting resources. But I do know that there is one party that is not allowing us to use resources to grow our economy and secure our future. By the by, scarce resources are governed by the laws of economics as well. This has been proven time and again. But you go right ahead and keep putting regulations on what we can eat, where we can sleep, what water we can drink, and what energy sources we can use. Making resources scarce by fiat is what's killing us, not one side hoarding our resources for profit.

And you're spewing Obama edicts now. Listen, I don't need to mow at night as my patch of grass is about as long as king size bed, but I do water early in the morning. I set my thermostat high when I leave for work. I have flourescent bulbs around my house. My car is brand new therefore my tires are properly inflated. And working at home really depends on my employer, not me.

"Compromise people, and lose the capitolist agenda because it effects us all yet benifits very few."

Yet, it was a capitalism that allowed us to begin preserving our resources to begin with by not only replanting items that we use, but looking for alternatives that proved to be more effective and efficient.

No more comments to you, either. You insult as well, but don't offer reason.

Chris of AZ 6:09PM August 13, 2008

By the way Chris, I agree with you that there are environmental problems all over the earth. But as an America loving American citizen, I obviously think that Americans should focus on the problems here first. Once our environment is clean, only then will we be a fit example for other countries to follow. Bush wont even sign the Kyoto Treaty. How do you expect India, Pakistan, China, Brazil to clean up their act on our command when we dont even follow the rules ourselves (thanks to the bush administration).

Since you are so concerned about those countries above your own, maybe you should join the peace corp. They have a job for people of your IQ, its called digging crappers. enjoy.

Chris, how bout responses to me?

Yes, that horrific act did occur, about 4 miles from my girlfriends house. Are you saying that these things dont happen in AZ, thats just crazy talk.

I just checked the facts, obviously you didnt. AZ has 558.9 sex offenders per million where VT has 440.4. They are both high, honestly.

So Arizona wins the prize for the most sand, illegal aliens, AND SEX OFFENDERS!

We win in the area of pretty green hills and no McDonalds. Gee, which one sounds more pleasant?!?

So lay off Vermont, its heaven on earth. Maybe you should visit before you end up puting your sweaty foot in your mouth again.

main man of VT 5:58PM August 13, 2008

You know, I cant say I blame them.

If I thought that some higher power was going to come save me from destrcution just because I attend church, I'd rape a pillage and get rich and squander the enviroment too...

Totally kidding, but seriously, they live in fantasy land. they think there is a higher power that is coming to save them. They dont care what happens to the earth because their heaven is in heaven.

People based in reality know that heaven is right here on earth. And those who have a backbone fight to keep it the way it is (preferably the way it was) because they know that we have to SAVE OURSELVES from this mess. No one is going to come save you, your friends, the people of your church, your kids or the earth. WE messed it up with our consumption, we need to do the right thing now before its too late. Save our planet!
