Obama's View From On High

Sounds like maybe Bonnie's invitation to accompany John in first class on his campaign tour got lost in the mail?

I've long considered U.S. News & WP to be a respectable and reliable publication of high journalistic standards, but this nonsense isn't even worthy of the National Enquirer. Obviously there's no editorial oversight for blog entries.

Bonnie, did you sleep with someone to get this job? Because you couldn't possibly have got it to due to your credibility as a journalist.

You should be ashamed and US News & WP should fire you.

This is a silly piece of reporting--even as an op-ed it's grossly trivial.

Bonnie, you're in a prime position to get some REAL issues discussed here.

So tell me, Bonnie, how does this story jibe with your promise to provide news on "issues that affect the lives of women, families, and communities of color," as your biography so liltingly promises?

Do you think anyone cares whether a candidate sits in a leather recliner in his campaign-funded jet or a standard first-class seat (which also recline, as I recall from the two times I've flown first class)?

Or would it be better to contrast "O-Force One" (Obama's plane) with the PRIVATE jet furnished by Cindy McCain so Exxon John can travel in the plush comfort the "maverick" has grown accustomed to since ditching his first wife?
