Texas's Tragic Burro Slaughter

No studies have been completed at Big Bend Ranch to even show the burros have been detrimental to the park. Lets get some environmental reports done at the park that way it can be determined that in fact the burros need to be removed. Going by studies done 34 years ago at "other" native desert habitats just doesn't justify shooting and killing or removing the burros at Big Bend Ranch.

Here is a link to a "Freedom of Information Act" request that was done in July 2008.

Hey, why have a gun and not want to kill animals with it. They go together don't they? Why adopt out defenseless animals when you can find lots of people who want to shot them and think it's fun. Better than video games! Go Texas state government; show your family values. Blow those little burros away! Yehaw! Look kids; daddy shot a burro!

Probably no one slapped these good ole park rangers' hands when, as boys, they were caught stealing cookies from their moms' cookie jars. Now, as grown men (in physical stature only), they still think it's cool to surreptitiously slink around and steal what doesn't belong to them -- and they continue to avoid a slapping! This time they're taking the innocent little lives of burros and sheep -- and whoever else they decide would be fun to shoot dead. Their actions are sick and sorry. Even sicker and sorrier are the government officials they report to, all the way up to the top of the heap. I can't wait for the entire Bush Administration gang to get out of Dodge before they cowardly kill every poor prey in their sights -- tragically, out of our sight.

What a disgusting country we live in! I'm afraid every time I read about what goes on from our government. You know Mr. Bush you yourself are unwanted by many, but you are still here. Amazing! Our poor defensless burros, and horses have no one to protect them, they aren't paying anyone off to cover their back. You all will one day answer to the God you claim to pray to. My mom used to say shame on you to me, but I can say SHAME ON YOU with good conscience! There are absolutely no excuses, or reasons for what you have done.

The new President can't move in soon enough! Bush has done nothing good for animal welfare and does not care what the American people think. At least both candidates love animals, so we already have a voice for them come January.

Soon we will be taking our grandchildren to the zoo to show them what mustangs and wild burro's look like. This is a disgrace. Thank you Mr.Bush for allowing these heartless people be the caretakers of our beloved equine friends, your cattle and sheep buddies seem to be the dictators of policies these days don't they? Hurry up and slaughter the horses and donkeys before they eat all the grass, hurry before someone new gets in office because both McCain and Obama support protection. Shame on you.

in this bloodbath.

Perhaps this is just an excuse for those who find excitement in stopping the beating of a heart in another being's chest, fun.

I am appalled that The Sierra Club and the park officials condoned this brutality.

Isn't it too bad that those in power, don't know how to use their power for good, rather than evil.

Seems Texas manages all its excess or unwanted by exicution. What a simple solution. The question becomes who desides? All dogs, cats, horses, people can at some point be excess or unwanted. Who sets the bar is the unwanted to me.
