it's absurd for anyone t o not vote for someone because of the color of their skin.the old picture of race has raised it head again. come on folk ,i know we can do better than that.just remember, there is only one heaven. if we can't live on earth together, god is in charge now .and he knows all our hearts.i love everyone regardally of the color of their skin

This election has already been lost by the Democrats. It was lost the moment the Republicans were allowed to marginalize Sen. Edwards (they went after him with a vengeance.) By placing Obama on top of the presidential ticket the Democratic Party will self-destruct. It will be my first time voting for a Republican.

The truth is that if you ask a white person if they would vote for Obama they will of course say yes. If they say no, they will be labeled as a racist. Educated Whites in this country know better then to make any statements that would label them a racists. If you do you are a red neck hillbilly. The truth is that Whites can not have a real discussion about race if they want to survive in the workplace or elsewhere. I believe that Obama will not win because of this. Even though everyone is smiling and nodding their heads in agreement that race isnt influencing their vote more democrats will either not vote or vote McCain when they are in the secluded privacy of the voting booth.

It's wonderful when an ignorant person proves your point with his own negative words. Thanks!

I am voting for him and have done so already twice here in Texas in the primary and caucus. Senator Obama has this white boys vote.

He will not win because he is inexperienced and people don't know him. I don't think having Michelle as a wife helps him either. Personally I will not vote for him if he is the nominee, I will vote for Nader.

There are no "mainstream conservative Democrats". The mainstream of that party is liberal and the last poster has identity crisis. He does not know he is a Republican in drag.

This Obama jerk is just a Republican puppet bought and paid for. He is ruining the Democratic party. Mainstream conservative Democrats like myself will leave the party for good if the Republicans suceed in getting him nominated. We will not let this Uncle Tom in an Italian suit be forced down our throats. His legacy will be the destruction of the white/black Democratic coalition and signals the end of middle class influence in America. May he rot in hell!

There are a couple of keys, in my view, to Democrats winning in November.

Barack must ASK NICELY for Mrs. Clinton to join him ASAP on the ticket as VP, because he wants her experience there. This will negate most of the negative racism and sexism and preempt destruction on those counts. BARACK must exhibit this leadership, and not wait for it to be demanded by Carville or McAullife or Bill or anyone else in the Clinton entourage of days gone by.

John McCain must be separated from any of the votes of the honest church people. This is done by reminding them that a hard-cussin' dude married (with adultery in the process) for 25 years to a mega-dealer of beer IS NOT A CHOICE COMPATIBLE with either any of the church teachings or with Jesus himself. Character matters. McCain is seriously lacking, and POW status does not make up the deficit.
