Private jets and Mercedes and Cadillacs carrying Liberal leaders will still operate, while the little people will ride in Ford Fiestas. The Liberal elite will still air condition and heat their palatial mansions, while the people will freeze in winter because the carbon taxes will be passed onto their electric bills making them unaffordable.
These Emissions "charges", these payments by companies, do not reduce carbon emissions! They are just charging for them. These carbons will still be "spewed".
So the goal is not to reduce the emissions, because nowhere in this article does it atate how charging for these flights will reduce emmisions. This is just taxation and fees and a means to collect money.
The real polluters like China, and all developing countries and others will still spew carbon emissions- they just will pay these taxes to Liberal organizations and governments. Every flight will still fly, every factory will still operate, every big government Mercedes and Liberal-owned private jet and huge Cadillac SUV will still be used.
It is all just a scam to raise money.

Friend Bing - A Little Perspective...
1. Since the end of the Pleistocene Epoch earth has been in an "interglacial period" - I'd like to keep it that way - ice is a killer of civilization.
2. Global temps began rising, causing the ice sheets to recede, 11000 years before Suv's and the Industrial age.
3. There have been at least two mini- Ice Ages in the last 10,000 years - each followed by global warming.
4. Sea levels have been rising since the end of the last ice age - with century long pauses during periods of "global cooling. Sea levels have risen nearly 300 feet in the past 15000 years...
5. The "Little Ice Age" ended about 1855 - We have been in a general warming trend ever since - Thank God.
6. All the melting "pole" ice shelves that everyone is panicking about have melted before. During the Medieval Warming (950-1250) Vikings grew crops in Greenland.
7. There is absolutely no scientific evidence that man made co2 has anything to do with possible global warming. Anthropogenic co2 accounts for less than 2% of Co2 in the atmosphere. If we followed the green banners and marched back to the caves - leaving 99% of our fellows to die - the Co2 meter would barely move.
8. H2o is (water vapor) is the most common green house gas representing 95% of green house gas.
9. More "bio-mass" is present at the middle latitudes and far less as the poles. You may check this out by trying to grow something on a sheet of ice and compare that to your success in a "green house". More food means fewer dead people.
10. Petro-factoids... More oil spilled into the sea every 6 weeks during the nearly 6 years of WWII than in the entire 65 years since its end. Guess what? The oceans survived those 3600+ ships, (hundreds were oil tankers - all were full of fuel oil and chemicals) sinking. Oil platforms actually reduce the amount of "natural seepage" Less than one barrel per day is lost from all the 3800+ oil platforms each day - more than 1500 barrels seeps into U.S. territorial waters from natural, undersea fissures each day The worst man made oil spill in history took place in 1944 when American planes dropped tons of bombs on 77 Japanese ships in Truk Lagoon. All were sunk. These ships still leak oil to this day. Truck Lagoon is not a "Super Fund Site" - rather it is a premier dive resort with a diverse ecosystem.
12. The DDT ban, born of Rachel Carson’s hysteria, has cost the lives of tens of millions of people - mostly children. DDT saved millions of lives during World War II. And despite decades of DDT has never been shown to have any ill effects on humans. If our leaders could have summoned the political will to use DDT in the one New York county that was infected with West Nile Virus in 1999 we might have saved more animals and humans - each year - than DDT has ever harmed - even in the minds of eco-zealots.

Only have two problems with the anti-global climate change crowd, 1) They're not scientists, they're ideologues 2) They never seem to consider they might be wrong. If they are wrong and we do nothing, there will be heck to pay. I'm not willing to take that chance. In this regard I consider myself a conservative, somebody who takes the prudent and safe course of action.
Friend Schaefer, all those Republican pundits who denounce global climate change science, they went to the same colleges their liberal colleagues did. Doesn't seem to have affected their views much.
This view of "liberal" colleges and "liberal" mass media sounds nothing more than a bunch of whining disgruntled people. What is it that makes conservatives think the whole world is against them? Sounds paranoid.

Green Eco-Madness Has Enveloped the Globe...
Over the past 50 years, liberal, schools (Are there any other kind?) have churned out hundreds of thousands of Environmentalist zealots who have inexorably moved through the chain of command of the Department of the Interior, The EPA, The National Park Service, NOAA, as well as state and local Wildlife and Fish and Game Departments, and various state and local environmental commissions and bureaucracies.
Each year these agencies add and strengthen regulations - each one a type of Lilliputian thread pressing us down, - slowly wringing and crushing the life out of energy production, industry, agriculture, outdoor access and recreational opportunities.
These bureaucracies of government are implementing an inexorable, laborious imprisonment which relentlessly confines and limits our economic and outdoor freedoms to the point of prohibition of just about any industrial, energy producing or recreational endeavor or pursuit.
Environmental Studies and Earth Sciences are simply seminaries for Neo-Pantheists. The ordained graduates are slowly taking control of all regulatory, educational, and bureaucratic departments of government.
We need to wake up before it's too late.
