to point out that the deficit was 3.1% of GDP in '85 versus 1.2% now?

Obsessing about deficits in the midst of a recession is like obsessing about water conservation when your house is on fire. Deficit spending must eventually be brought under control (perhaps we should repeal Medicare Part D or raise marginal tax rates back to where they were under Reagan), but this is not the time.

But the Dems don't care to listen.

All we've seen are HUGE agenda laden Bills determined to centralize Federal/Executive power while ignoring the real problems faced by the average American.

Washington is a "black hole" that is sucking the life out of America. If there's any possible bright spot here, it's that the Pelosi-Reid-Obama Trilogy is SOOO bad that it will bring America back to it's senses. I'm pretty sure 70% of us are already there.

I just hope that when the Republican/Independants take back over, there will be enough of the USA left to salvage.

AND, they remember why they got back in power AND why they lost it in the first place. You can't call yourself a Conservative and then behave like a Democrat.
