Try to contain yourself...an attempt to have a civil conversation is simply impossible when you lose control. That's the problem in this country now...all manner of civility has been lost from one end to the spectrum to the other...AND...I'm a conservative so please behave yourseff or find someone other place to rant

Clyde is correct, Americans do want health care reform.

But that does not mean that they want the current version of the house bill. Seniors are concerned about "cuts" in medicare. Those who promote fiscal responsibility are concerned about the cost (1.2 trillion over seven years, not 10 years since benefits don't start for three years) and the underfunding of a least 50 billion dollars per year.

Those who oppose this bill are concerned because it does nothing to control costs. No interstate selling of insurance. No reform of malpractice insurance due to the trial laywer lobbysts influence on the Obama administration.

This bill is so complex that even those who voted for it really have no idea of what it contains.

The country needs a much more focused simpler bill. If the politicians can produce one, it will have a chance of becoming law.

You can't be as dumb as you sound...I guess you can. I'll burst your bubble with..no I'll just reaffirm my statement you sound DUMB! Don't take it to personal but that is what Democrats are, DUMB!

All this hogwash criticizing Pelosi misses the fact America voted in a president who ran on healthcare reform platform. We all know we would never have gotten any reform from the GOP anyway - and no healthcare reform, no banking reform and no reform on Wall Street can be expected anytime soon from the GOP. Sadly the GOP can not get out from under their lobbyist handlers and won't stray from Rupert Murdock's orders. No one trusts Republicans anyway to look out for the people's interests anymore, only the profit and losses of special interests. There's nothing conservative about Republicans. No way anything would get done by Republicans, so most Americans are happy to see something get done, especially since they voted the Democrats in to do just that.

Get over it, a majority of Americans want healthcare reform.

What we need is honest Americans in Congress instead of tranny Pelosi women who have a radical agenda and not a care about Americans. This liberal crap is long faded San Fransisco queer politics that will never again be accepted. Say no to liberal activist Global warming, Cap and tax and this government health care disaster. Nothing Pelosi wants is good for us!!

Where is the TRANSPARENCY!!!!! Pelosi is a radical disaster!!!

JUST SAY NO TO LIBERALS!!!!

To Voters, why don't you stop blaming Republicans for any delay in passing this debacle. The Dems are in power and made it clear they didn't need and didn't want any help from Republicans (unless Republicans just agreed with them). It would appear that it is the Democratic party itself that has caused delays. I mean, you should have been able to have a vote and get it passed without a Republican even being around.

When are you all going to stop blaming Bush and the Republicans for everything. Obama and the Dems control the govt. now. You cannot divert their failures and deficiencies on what Bush did. In other words, when something negative is pointed out, libs like to cry "Well, Bush did that" or "What about this thing Bush did."

Wasn't Obama supposed to be different? Wasn't he the messiah of all time - the great one who had all the answers that Bush and the Repubs didn't have? He was going to make it so all our troubles were fixed? You all voted for him for hope and change. Seems to me that if you have to compare his actions to what Bush did, then you aren't getting the change you expected, are you?

To add to the comments about the infant mortality. Those who love to cite this need to research the issue because not all countries report infant mortality the same way. For example, our country reports ALL live births no matter how long they might live or whether they are premature births; however, other countries may require a baby to be full term before being considered a "live" birth. So, as an example, let's say we have 10 deaths but 2 are preemies who die soon after birth, leaving 8 live births. Another country, say, has only 5 deaths but actually have 20 preemies who die. Of course their 5 looks better than our 10,because they don't count the premature births who die. If you compared out 8 "non-premature" deaths, then we definitely look better than their 5.

So please do your research and you will find that there can be comparisons of apples to oranges on this issue.

Will of VA,

Where we are the worst on the WHO rankings that make us 34th is infant mortality. So you tell me how a public option will change that? We rank at the top of Cancer Treatments, Shorter Lead Times, Research & Development (We are number 1 there). These things will suffer with a public option and not improve our infant mortality rate. Name the countries that have it better, and why they are better. I have been to Spain where they have Universal Health Care, problem is isn't truly Universal. As long as you have a job you have insurance. A sytem like that would not help the unemplyed here in America. I think we need health care reform, it's just I am not pleased with the current route taken to achieve that

Jake of SD,

You libs just want to reward bad behavior/choices and punish smart/responsable people! And no one wants to see America Fail, except maybe in the MIddle East. Conservatives think Obama & Peolsi's policies will make America Fail, and we would like to stop that from happening. Do I want Obama to Fail so I can say I told you so? Hell no, I hope I am wrong and his policies stregnthen us, but common sense and History tell me to expect something other than success, with the path he has laid out.

Michael Foggerty,

Please say something new, the Party of 'No' is a bit old and stupid. Democrats: The party of "Anybody who has made money off of capatalism is evil" Or Democrats: The party of"Free Homes & Free Healthcare for everybody, we will figure out how to pay for it later" is about to kill everyone's motivation for working hard and a willingness to succeed. I am not a Republican I hate both parties equally the same right now. It's just this Health Care situation along with Pelosi's condesending & elitist attitude rubs a lot of people the wrong way, myself included.

So quit saying BS just to get attention contribute to the discussion or don't say anything at all.
