He won the election by 232 votes and it is well understood that ACORN registered thousands of voters in this particular election. ACORN's corruption does have consequences despite what the liberals and the media are telling you to the contrary.

Dear A., let's see...the IRS and the Census Bureau suspend their relationships with ACORN and Congress votes to deny it funding because a "foolish" (who's the fool?), "unprofessional" (only professionals should uncover corruption, right?) and "illegal" (you a lawyer, smart guy?) investigation which captured words and images of foolish, unprofessional and illegal activity by a federally-funded organization that Obama has deep and long connections with and that is facing criminal charges in Las Vegas for (you don't say) "illegal" voter registration practices (long breath) and you've got a problem with that???? Wow is the word alright. You're a bigger nut than ACORN. I have a feeling Mr. Ortiz may have issues with the INS too.

If it was a joke, why were the ACORN workers fired?

Why was ACORN federal funding pulled?

Why did CNN and other MSM sites eventually report it?

The ACORN story was not real journalism. Though the "report" on YOUTUBE was great "news" and has exposed some serious doubts on the organization, the manner in which this story was conducted was not journalistic in nature. It was biased and was meant to set the organization up [which kudos to the two who did this, as they succeeded]. So yes, there is still a need for real, true journalism...and no, Fox news does not provide unbiased news; Fox presents the conservative opinion of the news [that is when it actually gives news and doesn't spend it's time with the hollywood effect of showing every fire, murder, tornado, etc.]. Real news is unbiased. Everything else is opinion- like your article. And opinion isn't always factual.

You all realize the ACORN story was a foolish, unprofessional, illegal investigation that later ended up being entirely incorrect, right?

Those YouTube videos? The ACORN reps were joking. They thought it was hilarious.

New York TImes was NEVER an excelent paper.

I come to this country in 1985 from Russia by the way of Israel.

After one week in this country I stopped reading this crap. They lied or invented stories just about everything, their left-communist bias was as bad then as it is now. Why anyone with an ounce of brain will read this garbage is beyond me

Andrew Breitbart is a genious with strong conservative convictions. We are all so tired of the Old Gray Lady showing her bias day in and day out and now that she is going bankrupt, she finally gives herself a kick in the butt and says that they need to keep tabs and make sure they are not being biased? Hmm...sounds too phoney to me. I don't believe for one moment that they are going to be unbiased. They simply don't have it in their DNA. They will be shut down within the next 3 years...mark my words. If you can't be fair and show all sides of an issue, then you don't earn the public trust and for the people who have consistently run down the conservative base and even independents, to think that they are going to be given another chance....I think not! They are too intellectually arrogant and dishonest to even try to show they'll be fair.....NO Way! Amen to Drudge too!

Don't forget, the NYT spiked a story in October of 2008 that related to ACORN ties to the Obama campaign and possible campaign finance law violations. This doesn't help their credibility, either. It would appear the NYT had a good story in progress and opted to not follow through to see where it would lead them.
