Jeb Bush in 2012? Don’t Rule Him Out

Jeb Bush position on education is "frightening." That IS a fact. He heads the Foundation for Florida's Future, a firm that takes money from for-profit charter schools. His brother Neil took millions of tax dollars as the public face for that stupid learning cow station. Follow the money on these guys. It always leads to foreign cash. Neil networked with Asian and Middle Eastern businessmen just to allow access to his brother. The education programs under Jeb in Florida dive bombed and when he changed the curriculum midstream for students and then held tight on standardized test scores (forms from one of Neil's companies), he was sued and lost. Jeb is an opportunist of the worst stripe. Plus, Jeb has the backing of the uneducated Karl Rove who is only about building his own power base. Rove is Napoleon-like, without any of the brains and intellect. Let's take him out and leave him at Alba--without any way to escape.

I did not know murderers like Jeff Bush, could stand for president, but there again we had Tony Blair

Oh yes, absolutely! Jeb Bush would make a TREMENDOUS U. S. president! He is amaaazing! There are so many reasons why he is THE best: 1) he really cares about matters, 2) he personally worked on Florida's budget, so he didn't turn things over to others 3) he was frightenly well informed about education matters (in a wonderful way); for example, he was familiar with school grades, and at the very least, knew exactly how to access that information - fast, himself, online... 4) he was a "techie," quite proficent in using technology, 5) kept in close contact with his constituents 6) he is a passionate man, driven, and dynamic (I've seen him in action when it came to serious matters), 6) he is highly flexible, and can quickly change gears, when merited. I have personally seen these traits in Jeb and can say, without a doubt, HE WILL MAKE AN OUTSTANDING PRESIDENT OF THE U. S.!

Anyone remember Bill Clinton and his disastrous terms in office?

Anyone remember NAFTA? Hundreds of thousands of American jobs are now outsourced overseas while we face unemployment of skilled laborers and lower quality of goods to purchase (think of the recalls for lead paint in childrens toys, cadmium from mcdonalds shrek glasses...) due to this so called globalization.

How about the Clintonian method of enforcing the Community Reinvestment Act that allowed Fanny Mae and Freddie mac to doll out mortgages to people with questionable credit histories?

Anyone? I think it laughable that Bush alone is being blamed for the entire mess that we are in.

Regan started the era of success that America was during the mid-80s through the 90s. Reganomics worked, Clintonomics screwed us, Bush ended up getting blamed.

Anyhow I am not a republican or a democrat. Personally I would prefer to see a blue collar, middle class working man who knows what this nation really needs to get elected. Preferably one not influenced by lobbyists and special interest groups.

These people are in it for the lucre from the corporations who own the government, not for the good of the common folk.

I cannot afford lobbyists, democrats or republicans to be allowed in the government.

Oh and while I am at it I am pro term limitations in congress and the senate.

Jeb Bush would be an unmitigated disaster. Bill seems to just hate liberals because most of them can read and write. Don't be so resentful Bill, take an online literacy course!! It's cheaper than a month of spending on beer and cable.

Of the many things I really hate about Jeb Bush is that his state is one of only three states in the US that permanently ban ex-felons from voting preventing them from having their voting rights in the state of Florida even after having paid their debt to society and completed their obligations to the criminal justice system both during and after having served their sentence. There are nine states that have partial bans on felon voting rights; only certain classes of felons can't have their rights restored. In Florida, whether you're caught with an ounce of cocaine or whether you killed someone, you can't get your voting rights restored under any circumstances.

This is pure, unconstitutional voter suppression for the partisan purposes of keeping Democrats from voting in a state with 27 electoral votes. It is the entire reason that George Bush became the 43rd president of the US. There was no other reason.

In the current US Senate race, the state of Florida is considered "barely Republican" by many analysts. Kendrick Meek (D) is trailing Marco Rubio (R) by one percentage point (48% to 49%) and with over 800,000 ex-Felons suddenly allowed to vote, Florida would suddenly become safely Democratic. If blue collar criminals all voted Republican, there would be no such rule.

This rule, which is a vestige of the old racist south which was famous for voter suppression of minorities, has no validity or merit as a law. There is never a reason to permanently revoke someone's right to vote, a sacred right upon which our democracy is founded. Only self serving rationalizations exist to support it. It is purely dishonest politics.

Jeb Bush's support of a corrupt practice such as this one is reason enough to oppose him. But he also played a role in stealing the 2000 election in the state of Florida for his brother. Jeb is just another right wing, dishonest, neanderthal GOP hack who doesn't deserve to be president. I hope the Democrats hold on to the White House with or without Obama. Perhaps they can do this by taking the progressive case to the American people and by fighting for the change they were elected to bring to America. They will have to run on a more progressive platform. The GOP lost many of its old strongholds because Bush's policies so clearly failed. This is the reason so many GOPers continue to blame the Democrats for Bush's obvious failings and for years of failed supply side economics. Most people wanted a massive federal jobs program, a public option for health care and a clean environment. We know even from this blog that they support entitlement spending for the unemployed. It is this spending which is the best fiscal stimulus. The GOP is sabotaging Obama's efforts. Democrats must fight back.

Look at the hole we are in now. Have you forgotten how we got here? How stupid bush and his hacks were in office. No we can't afford anymore stupid republicans.

Fate not faith...

Bill Hedges of MO 2:14AM August 13, 2010

It is far from time for deciding my sides candidate. We may very well pick someone you don’t like. Which is fine.

A Bush did run twice and won. Unless things change drastically there will be many new Republican faces in Congress come January. Many accepted their faith and are not running.

Unless barry’s poll numbers improve he may not get second nomination. Or as you say we “win every time.”. His halo is gone. His polls blemished.

Bill Hedges of MO 2:12AM August 13, 2010

Let the GOP bring up BUSH, any Bush, and see if they could ever win another election in the next couple decades.

Bring it on - Democrats can run against Bush, any bush, and win every time.
