Where Obama Went Wrong

Some people are so stupid they do not see when they are being sold down the river. The more the government owns in corporate America the more we are becomeing a socialistic Communist country where the uper class elite have everything and the lower class has nothing.

as far as the GM bail out goes if they needed bailing out so damn bad then why did they make a huge contribution to the democratic Black caucaus after they got that bail out? smells like a bribe to me but Hey if you want to think they miraculously had a windfall after getting their big government bail out you go right ahead and keep your blinders on.

If Obamas administration is so good then why are his closest advisory leaving right and left. But some of you out therte are just to stupid to see what is really happening out there. So you keep right on yapping and when the goons come to your house and take away your fancy cars and fancy houses Do not say you were not warned ......

Hunter, I used to live in Madison (bet it's your favorite city in Wisconsin) and I knew lots of guys like you who thought that anyone who was motivated enough to get an education and better themselves was an "elitist." It's just part of the anti-intellectual culture being promoted by the likes of FOX and their disgusting ilk. You shouldn't resent us. We're not trying to run your life. We're trying to stop the fascists from running (and taking) ours.

And Bill, you talk an awful lot about the will of the people. Well the people have spoken in November 2008 and 66 million of them voted for Obama and many other Democrats. You obnoxious Republicans haven't shut up for one minute. You've been deliberately disrupting and sabotaging efforts being made to get this county back on its feet. For this you are treasonous. Obama, as I have pointed out, has given more tax breaks to the lower 80% of income earners in eighteen months than Bush gave in eight years, especially if you count all the additional entitlement spending (such as the unemployment extensions) and other middle class oriented spending since the passage of ARRA. Bush did very little for the middle class by comparison. He focused mainly on the rich.

I think we will get a surprise in November especially if the radical tea party candidates run. I hope the voters put these fascists back in their place.

If you need an example , your dumber and more ate up with the dumb a-- than 90 % of us out here think you are .

You really do think most of us out here are really , really stupid , and you so called really , really smart people know what's best for all of us . Heavy burden for you really , really smart people to carry .

Don't worry , come Nov. , help will be here .

Hunter of WI 5:08PM August 07, 2010

Bill, there are Blue Dog Democrats, you know.

steve of IL 5:11PM August 06, 2010

We are getting blamed for following the wishes of the people. No, we talked the people against obama. Wouldn’t it had been easier just to talk people into electing McCain ? We must be careful with our powers. Scary man...

I say talk the people into elected our folks come November.

Is this what Steve is talking about:

“Two Democrats voted against ending debate on Wall Street reform in the Senate on Wednesday, helping defeat a motion for cloture that could have cleared the way for a final vote before the end of the week and capping off a day of stubborn opposition from all sides.”

Please once and for all quite with your crap , they didn't pillory Bush , please , your blatther and spin is not worth reading when you say this pooh .

How really stupid do you think we are ? Preach to another choir .

Hunter of WI 9:58PM August 05, 2010

Bill, the Democrats didn't obstruct Bush nor did they publicly pillory him as the tea parties are currently doing to Obama. The Democrats supported both wars, tax cuts, the Patriot Act and a bunch of other nonsense they normally wouldn't have. It is obvious just by the record number of cloture votes alone that the GOP is the obstructionist Party of NO!! More cloture votes have been taken in the past two years than in the entire history of our republic!! Obama's reforms are not being given a fair chance to work. You are deliberately trying to harm this Administration and by extension the American people. You will be forever remembered for this treason. The Democrats put their country before their party; the Republicans don't!!

steve of IL 5:52PM August 05, 2010

And Congress low ratings along with obama's 41% approval rating on downward fall is racist Republican fault.

SURE.

Remember how quiet and fair your group was to Bush. Just returning the favor Dee and it is working.

Seriously, there was Campaign obama and President barry. Two different people and agenda is not liked. With all but Fox kissing butt you still blame Fox.

Sure...

It's the economy, stupid!

Bush and the GOP tanked the US economy so that it was sliding starting in late 2006. That plus two stupid wars made the GOP unpopular - ergo the takeover of Congress starting in 2007 and Obama starting in 2009 (campaign/election years are too early for when the elected actually can make a difference) I moved my money out of the stock market Q1 2007. The writing was already on the wall.

So the economy did a huge nose dive at the end of his campaign - all of 2008. So all the things Obama might have been able to accomplish faded into ways of keeping the economy afloat.

Everyone knows - you too - that the electorate is always grumpy during economic down times. They expect instant results with no sacrifice. They assume you can reverse a recession and erase all their bad debts so they can go back to borrowing too much and spending more than they have.

Couple that with a minority party whose primary goal is to "get" Obama - and they forgot they are paid to fix things and work instead - so that makes his job all that much more difficult. Filibuster this, stall that, water down this, lie and distort facts about that, etc....Just looking at McConnells droopy old face and Boehner's orange tan makes me realize how intransigent and disinterested in our daily lives the GOP leadership really is.

Obama has been centrist on most issues - the progressives would laugh at your claim that Obama has been hard left leaning. A "lefty" would have promoted universal health care like Medicare instead of pandering to insurance companies, would have gone on a bridge/road/highway building campaign, like Roosevelt or Eisenhower (wait - he was GOP!), would have taken all the neo-cons to court to get the Bush administration in jail for starting the Iraq war with no provocation from Iraq, would have arrested Dick Cheney for promoting his special financial interests, arrested Blackwater and all the others...I could make quite a list. The stimulus has saved millions of jobs and kept many in their homes, TARP and the other packages were bi-partisan under Bush, TARP is over 50% paid pack already, the car bailout has worked well, with GM and Chrysler paying back, and the share the government owns looking like they will be worth much more during the first IPO, etc.

So Obama is no so hard left. The public is frightened by GOP ranting and Dick Armey's efforts to enrich himself and kill Medicare and Social Security, and by the shakey state of the economy. Fixing that will take at least a decade. Obama has done the right things for openers, but lots left to do. Since Reagan we have been shipping our jobs overseas - so until corporate America becomes American again, there won't be enough jobs.

I for one think Obama has been incredibly resilient - considering the screaming, nasty, sometimes racist, disinterested in the facts, ignorant, and xenophobic atmosphere fostered by idiots like Limbaugh and Palin.

You try it.
