Several Democrats have already privately conceded some form of defeat and are working to mitigate what could be a seismic political shift.

Jeb Bush in 2012? Don’t Rule Him Out
Tweet Share on Facebook August 12, 2010 Comment (13)By far the most conspicuous assertion whispered among GOP operatives these days is the notion that "If his last name wasn't Bush, Jeb would be the front-runner for the GOP nomination in 2012." Quite an astounding contention considering the Democratic electoral landslides of 2006 and 2008 resulted from campaigns run unequivocally against the record of Jeb's brother, George W. Bush.

Where Obama Went Wrong
Tweet Share on Facebook August 5, 2010 Comment (9)I recently finished re-reading Edmund Morris’s superb second volume of his Theodore Roosevelt trilogy. Perhaps what struck me the most was the eerily similar challenges faced by T.R. and President Obama during their first two years in office. An economic system ruled by monopolies teetering on the brink of collapse, populist unrest among the American citizenry and unique and dangerous foreign policy challenges greeted both men when they first stepped foot in the Oval Office. Unfortunately, thus far, Obama has pursued the course chartered by the other President Roosevelt that liberals so hoped he would embody.
