Occupy Wall Street Takes on Corporate Greed, aka Romney

Reader Comments

Back to blog

Corporate greed and corruption is rampant. For those of us that do have healthcare, getting treatment can be hindered by big corporations. Express Scripts CEO earns 10.3 million while customers (the 99%) must grovel to have their prescriptions filled. It is not uncommon for prescriptions to be held up for months while customers forego critical maintenance medication. 20 years ago a complaint to your state insurance commissioner or a complaint to the BBB might have led this company to follow rules. In todays environment you will receive your medication when and if big corporations decide you really need it.

"Do you think the workers in Finland appreciate the 1.1 million dollar/year jobs Mr. Obama created for them?"

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20111023020344AAFyfPk

Yet, you won't find Bannon or the rest of his little Occupy Wall Street group at Fisker Automotive in Anaheim, California, where Mr. Fisker is sending HIS stimulus grab to Finland to build his little green cars, (so much for "jobs in America", eh?) nor will you find this same bunch "occupying" the White House where Obama approved all of this horses--t!

This is what Obama does with our tax dollars from Stimulus One, lest we not forget Solyndra and LightSquared, a couple of high-level scandals that involve allegations of cover-ups of millions of our tax dollars inside the Obama administration also from Stimulus One: http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/182157-with-questions-about-solyndra-and-lightsquared-watchdogs-increase-pressure-on-obama

(…and I won‘t even get into the Labor Unions that have infested our Federal and State governments).

Bannon and his little cohorts truly live blissfully in their little Upside-Down Cake, don't they?!?!?

Add eBay to the list. Buying up companies and then replacing the U.S. employees by outsourcing to India!

Bannion . . . Your arguement is weak. It would be "greed" if B of A were the only player in the game, but it's not.

So what?! B of A charges it's customers a $5 transaction fee. If B of A customer's don't like it they can change banks. Problem solved. B of A, after hemmorhaging customers will then have a the a decision to make: Keep the $5 fee and continue trippping over dollars to pick-up dimes or end the stupidity of the $5 fee and thereby keep their customer's and stay in business.

As for Mitt Romney, your comments are snide and envious. What is your beef with Mitt, exactly. That he made a ton of money. If you don't like that then you don't like the American dream which gives people the opportunity to do more than slave away on a commune. Bain is a private company and has a lot of latiude. The problem with you media wankers is you have no idea regarding business. Business owners have a responsibility to their constituents. Namely stock holders, owners, and customers. The last and least of which is employees who are just an input used in the production of a good or service. Think of employees like the raw materials used in production. When business flags, inventory piles-up, the business owner will cancel material requisitions (why continue to produce widgets when people stop buying widgets and our widgets inventory is beyond capcity?) Consequently, the business owner will slow, stop, or eliminate widget production. The result is employees are out of a job.

I have little remorse for the employee who was willing to exchange their time and effort for dollars. The employee is a fool if they think the party is going to last forever and the road will never end. Employees are fools if they fail understand their role. Thus, we see the fools in the form of a faux "movement" complaining about their lot in life, begrudging the wealthy, and greedily demanding redistribution of the wealth they willingly and fairly gave to corporations in exchange for the goods and services corporations provide.

No remorse here. In fact, it's very upsetting to see these malingers railing against market capitalism which, in the history of the world, gave this nation the highest standard of living and these misfits ample opportunity for more.

For the record, the crowd affectionately called Occupy Wall Street should be renamed the camp-out for misfit toys.

An old Fable comes to mind when considering the two most visible political movements in America...

Ron Paul has been talking about these things for decades.

An unscripted reality show, Occupy America is a populist movement in the tradtion of the nineteenth century Cross of Gold. Speculation (George Soros; hedge funds), long or short, oil futures, de-regulation, neo-liberalism, benefits the 1 percent connected class with no social benefit. Banks once organized and allocated capital in order to produce wealth, economic expansion, that benefited the many rather than the few. Globalists know no national loyalty and are detached from their nations.

-Median wealth among Hispanic households amounted to $6,325 in 2009, down 66 percent from 2005.

-For Asian households, median wealth fell 54 percent to $78,066.

-For blacks, wealth declined 53 percent to $5,677.

-For whites, it dropped 16 percent to $113,149.

To the author:

Desperation, ignorance of economics, and just blind following of your clueless Democratic leaders will make it a much easier victory for the Republicans.

Your arguments could have been written by a high school student. And they ring as hollow and tame as anything I've seen in all my life.

You really need to hope Rick Perry stumbles across the finish the line as the Republican nominee. Your criticisms of him as a "redneck" and a "simpleton" and a "Jesus freak" will truly bite and scare people.

But not this "rich guy" silliness. This is America. Not 18th century France. Only a small portion of American hate the rich. Apparently you're one of them. Good for you.

Keep it up!
