Definition of filibuster _ "the use of irregular or obstructive tactics by a member of a legislative assembly to prevent the adoption of a measure generally favored or to force a decision against the will of the majority". Not voting FOR is not filibuster. Name them Bert. Go detail...

2. "And the lying trolls here are echoing the Anti-American sentiment that wants our economy to fail."

a. First mention our lies and prove.

b. obama caused so much debt we lost AAA. S&P said cut $$$ 4 trillion and Democrats didn't.

c. "wants our economy to fail."

obama budget would add $$$ 9.5 trillion in new debt over time according to CBO. CBO says obamacare WILL DESTROY OUR ECONOMY.

Yes we want to STOP obama. NO more AA or lower.

3. "There's a lot of things we can do the kickstart the economy, but probably the first will be to put Dems back in charge of the House"

Voters said NO.

4. "Pelosi passed a bill that would have taken away the tax breaks to move our industries offshore"

"Obama Wants to End Tax Breaks for Companies that Move Jobs Overseas"

"But there is resistance to Obama's push against favorable treatment for overseas operations, and it isn't coming solely from Republicans and business interests. Some Democrats also fear that ending the tax help could put the United States at a competitive disadvantage. The president acknowledged that "a lot of companies that do business internationally make an important contribution to our economy."

9. "will they still continue their Anti-American agenda? "

Oh yes, but is STRONG AMERICA, anti obama agenda. No second term for obama. We don't have $$$ 9.5 trillion to pass his budget. All the other ADDED debt he wants. Don't want 3rd World rating.

10. "We are gong to find out"

Feds took __ unusual move__ announcing that interest rate will stay near "0" until 2013. That's bad news...

Bill Hedges of MO 9:22PM August 12, 2011

Listen to the GOp/TEAheads have been doing everything they can to stall, obstruct, and undermine the economy Obama got into office. Mitch McConnell has told us his only priority is to stop Obama from getting reelected and McConnell is doing that by torpedoing the economy. Obama has done pretty well trying to get the economy going considering opposition from Republicans to do anything to help Americans. And the lying trolls here are echoing the Anti-American sentiment that wants our economy to fail.

There's a lot of things we can do the kickstart the economy, but probably the first will be to put Dems back in charge of the House. Pelosi passed a bill that would have taken away the tax breaks to move our industries offshore, but the Republicans in the Senate fillibustered it and killed it. Imagine that.

The tea party hates government and has been pledging to break it just like grover norquist's tax pledge, but we the people are the government. We shouldn't take kindly to folks who hate us and are trying to do us harm, like Michelle Bachmann who seemed to be boasting that she helped most of us lose billions in our retirement accounts by holding the country hostage over the debt ceiling.

Michelle Bachmann was the one who asked if people in Congress are anti-American or pro-American, but apparently being pro-tea party Republican is being anti-American, at least until the next election. When they loss again, will they still continue their Anti-American agenda? We are gong to find out.

So, I'll try and figure out your post again,Bill. If I have this correct, it's all Obama's fault. Their was a chicken in every pot, the grass was greener on the other side of the fence, and we all wore rose colored glasses. Everyone had a job, the economy was booming , there wasn't a dark cloud in the sky. So I thought i would look at some things on the web to see if your statements stack up. You will be surprised to learn that they don't. Take a moment Bill and look some facts up. Try googling "what makes up Obama deficit". Then try googling "States of the union before and after Bush" from pew research.org. You can also see a nice article about that from newsjunkiepost.com. Your constant bantering about how it's the democrats fault only is becoming shall we say, boring. And when it comes to filibusters you can try to ignore the facts if you like, but the facts still remain. Just look up the filibuster totals from 2009 and you get great articles from usnews.com and thinkprogress.org. Also talkingpointsmemo.com. now Bill we are all aware of the fact that you dislike Obama. That's fine, we get it. You do have the right to your opinion, but you do not have the right to your own facts.

Thanks for AA+ Dems.. Pelosi was Speaker for $5,343,452,800,321.37" in National debt. Democrats Congress has not had a balanced budget for 40 years. We had under Clinton thanks to Newt...

What you did with super majority in Congress was give us a AA+.You're pride of no budget Oct. 1, 2010 ? No budget from Senate for 180 days. You see long before you all lost super majority you ruin this Nation...

Like always it was Bush fault. It was Republican fault. It was TEA fault. Even some Democrat fault.

The bad thing the new House done was try to reduce your debt.

What you like to forget, Pelosi caused our debt. Much of the time for past 4 years Democrat had control of Congress:

"When Pelosi became speaker in January 2007 she was emphatic that there would be no new deficit spending."

“After years of historic deficits, this 110th Congress will commit itself to a higher standard: Pay as you go, no new deficit spending,” she said in her inaugural address from the speaker’s podium. “Our new America will provide unlimited opportunity for future generations, not burden them with mountains of debt.”

"[...]When Pelosi was sworn in on Jan. 4, 2007, the national debt stood at $8,670,596,242,973.04. At the close of business on Jan. 4, 2011, her last full day in the speakership, it stood at 14,014,049,043,294.41–an increase of $5,343,452,800,321.37."

By listening to most of the posters here, one would be lead to believe that things were so much better before Obama. If the democrats had simply filibustered 500 appointments and bills under G.W. Bush, one would wonder where we would be today. One could also easily conclude that there would be thousands of U.S. service men and women alive today, not counting the unknown toll of Iraqis. We would not still be sinking trillions of dollars down the rat holes of unnecessary wars. also tax breaks aimed to make the wealthy, wealthier would not have taken place. Maybe with one of those filibusters we could have made sure that medicare part d was properly funded, that the silly doughnut hole did not exist, and that we would have let the free market system republicans love so much, allow our health care system to actually negotiate drug costs. And maybe we could have filibustered an appointment of the Supreme court or two. Then maybe, We The People, would not be so straddled with the dilemmas we face today. So, as you continue to pass judgement upon the President, you should also look towards those you support and the culpability that they have in this mess.

Nice talking points, but America isn't buying your line anymore. Government doesn't create jobs, it destroys them with regulations and the picking of winners and losers. GM wouldn't have gone out of business if government hadn't bailed them out, but they might now since nobody wants their $40,000 toy electric car. Create jobs-easy! Lift the drilling bans in the gulf and the arctic, get the NLRB off Boeing's back, abolish the EPA and replace it with an agency who understands shutting down business with environmental nonsense kills jobs, prosecute any company that hires illegal aliens, and finally make people proud to be American for a change. America has nothing to apologize for! Capitalism unchecked by government will save the country. Let failing businesses fail. The country will be stronger because of it. It works with raising kids, countries too.

To locate a Democrat that is aware of his surroundings is, indeed, rare!

Let go of obama's pant leg, bannon .....and "come to the light"!

John Wayne of NM 8:58AM August 12, 2011

....and then we have today's REAL headliner:

"Postal Service Seeks to Cut 120,000 Jobs, Ditch Federal Health Plans"!

.....and Bannon the Boob says, "...big business is sitting on a mound of cash that they should want to use to put their fellow Americans to work."

These liberal idiots will never get it, will they?!?!?

Havahavanna of CA 8:14AM August 12, 2011

Its a shame the headlines and attention have been hijacked to waste time on the fake debt crisis, to the neglect of doing anything about jobs.

But maybe the jackals in Congress are trying to avoid doing anything again.

If the plan is to do nothing about jobs, then most in Congress will be looking for new jobs.
