2012 Republican Candidates Forget About Jobs

Reader Comments

Back to blog

Two things Republicans don't consider important.

Two things that Americans realize are vital.

Two reasons that the GOP is plain bad for America.

Better not to even talk about it in the debate since none of these candidates have any policies that create jobs in the US or improve the future of the country, our public education systems. Apparently the Republican platform is anti-public education and the GOP tax cuts for the rich might create jobs in China but kill jobs in the US.

Oh yea, all of these GOP candidates want to kill Medicare since all supported Ryan's Bill to Kill Medicare. Some even went further wanting to kill Social Security.

All of this garbage just ruins the country more, as if Republican policies haven't already ruined our economy enough.

That's why most polls are saying None of the Above about the GOP 2012 field.

Americans should just say No to these jerks.

"Why Paul Ryan’s Medicare Is So Much Better Than Obama’s"

"Obama said regarding the Ryan budget plan, “No I don’t think it is particularly courageous. Because…nothing is easier than solving a problem on the backs of people who are poor or people who are powerless or don’t have a lobbyist or don’t have clout.”

"How does obamacare cut cost, but help "people who are poor or people who are powerless or don’t have a lobbyist or don’t have clout.”

"cuts in payments to doctors and hospitals under Medicare as provided in current law due to Obamacare and President Obama’s Medicare reimbursement policies is $15 trillion!"

"These Medicare cuts were the foundation for CBO finding that Obamacare would actually reduce the deficit, despite adopting or expanding three entitlement programs.

"Medicare’s Chief Actuary reports that even before these cuts already two-thirds of hospitals were losing money on Medicare patients."

"The unworkable, draconian effect of these Medicare cuts is why the U.S. Government Accountability Office issued a disclaimer..."

Unlike Ryan’s careful Medicare reforms, these draconian, unworkable, Obamacare cuts to Medicare apply to seniors already retired today. Ryan exempts from any change all seniors retired today and everyone over age 55. On these grounds alone, Ryan’s Medicare is better for today’s seniors than Medicare under Obamacare.

That will involve an additional $500 billion in Medicare cuts for today’s seniors by 2023, “and an additional one trillion dollars in the decade after that,” in Obama’s own words.

"Obama proposed to give even more power to the unelected, unaccountable, Washington bureaucrats on his Commission to cut Medicare further, by undemocratic automatic sequester that bypasses Congress entirely."

"Seniors would do far better each choosing their own health insurers themselves in a competitive marketplace, which is the system that has generated the highest standard of living in the world in America for all goods and services."

"Even President Obama was forced to admit before the Facebook audience that the Ryan Medicare plan “will control costs, except if you get sick and the policy that you bought doesn’t cover what you’ve got….If you’re somebody who’s older and has a pre-existing condition, insurance companies won’t take you.” But that’s not how the private insurance companies under Medicare Advantage work. Nor is that true of the private Medigap plans, whose sellers include AARP, central players in Obama’s own political machine."

brucetee claims “the author pretty much nailed it.the republicans ran on the promises' of job creation and getting the economy back on solid ground,so far they have done neither. ” barry with his Congress did what ? Tell me brucetee. We have one House for 5 months. barry had for 2 years with control of Congress.

1. Jobs_ We got Bush's tax cuts for rich extention. Creates jobs and adds money to government revenue.

A. "Texas jobs creation machine vs. California"

"In 2008, 70 percent of all the jobs in the country were created in Texas. In 2009, all of America's top five job-creating cities were in Texas."

"More recently, "Texas created 129,000 new jobs in the last year -- over one-half of all the new jobs in the U.S."

"Texas is home to 64 Fortune 500 companies -- more than any other state in the union. (California has 51 and New York has 56.) For five years in a row, Texas has topped Chief Executive magazine's poll of the best state to do business."

"Meanwhile, California is ranked dead last in the Chief Executive's survey. California state treasurer Bill Lockyer even went so far as to pen a Dec. 20 op-ed in the Los Angeles Times denying "the claim that we have a hostile business climate."

"He goes on to explain the tax differential which also heavily favors low tax Texas. My regular readers are familiar with these statistics, but there is cumulative data that support to the superiority of the Texas model."

"Since 1984 the JEC has provided factual information about the impact of the tax cuts of the 1980s. For example, for many years the JEC has published IRS data on federal tax payments of the top 1 percent, top 5 percent, top 10 percent, and other taxpayers. These data show that after the high marginal tax rates of 1981 were cut, tax payments and the share of the tax burden borne by the top 1 percent climbed sharply. For example, in 1981 the top 1 percent paid 17.6 percent of all personal income taxes, but by 1988 their share had jumped to 27.5 percent, a 10 percentage point increase. The graph below illustrates changes in the tax burden during this period."

the author pretty much nailed it.the republicans ran on the promises' of job creation and getting the economy back on solid ground,so far they have done neither.

so far all they have done is been on a crusade to end a woman's right to choose and to give tax cuts to people and corporations who donn;t need them.add to this their hair brain idea to destroy the the eoconomic safety net( medicare and social security ) which numerous people have earned with their years of work. but spending time working on job creation, not so much.

news flash! vouchercare is NOW opposed by over 70% of the people.

yes ,this is the same g.o.p. that that marched the country into the economic swamp in the first place, that the voters foolishly returned to office, under their promise that this time things would be different.

different ? not so much.

NOT ONLY PRES BUSH, BUT ATM MACHINES ARE ALSO RESPOSIBLE FOR THE ECONOMY SCENARIO

It seems (and indeed it is) that virtually everything around this character Obama,…his ficticious image once aparently so charismatic and powerful..(and intelligent), is just desintegrating rapidly;….but not only the youth spectrum, but everyone else, the latino vote (among others minority population segments)…in general the independent vote force….everyone around – JUST EVERYONE.

Well, one thing,… the american public is well aware of reality for they are informed, and continue geting informed and knowledgable.

Add to that, one of the latest absurd ‘explanation’ from Obama about the economy scenario; (paraphrasing)…”ATM machines is a pivotal cause of our bad economy…etc, etc, etc…”

1. Eliminate the Capital Gains Tax for investment in companies that create jobs based on a workable formula.

2. Reduce corporate income taxes based on the number of "real" jobs added. Raise taxes on crazy bonuses and salaries. Pick a number - 2 million? They'll just have to soldier along keeping only 25% over 2 million..... poor babies. Maybe use the money to pay their employees more instead of paying a luxury tax on it. Executive averaging 365 times that of their employees gives a whole new meaning to the term "robber baron".

3. Massive tax incentives for companies who bring "out sourced" foreign jobs back home.

4. Tax penalties for corporations based on the number of jobs "out sourced" to foreign counties.

5. Put the "hard green" dogma/agenda in the trash bin. Dogmatic regulations make competition difficult, and result in higher costs and lower employment.

6. Forget National Health Care. Merely subsidize a % of the premiums for low income families, remove the insurance industries exclusion of persons with "pre-existing conditions" and government pays a portion of those claims. Hog tie the trial lawyers. and allow a free market interstate insurance market. There's no need to dismantle the whole machine and raise everyone's taxes to fix a few glitches.

7. Start drilling off shore - especially California, and in Alaska. Tweak shale oil technology. Stop tearing down dams because of fish and frog worries, and fast track hi-tech nuclear plants. Low cost energy is a must for production. The Algore-rithms for Global Warming are faulty. Drive a stake through the boogeyman called "climate change" and move on.

8. Stop the ethanol fiasco. Families need less expensive food - not more expensive gas that actually gets fewer miles per gallon and creates more pollution in its production then it saves! Absolute madness!

9. Cut government red tape to the bone from the city to the federal level. Building projects need to be fast-tracked and not tied in regulatory knots over a thousand issues with environmental theology. Government needs to "re-learn" common sense and judgment. Stop micro-managing and creating roadblocks over insignificant issues. We're in an economic war - Fight to win!

10. Close that southern border! Deport those who are here less than 5 years. Fine the heck out of companies who hire illegals. After 300 years it's time Mexico handled their own economic and political issues. Stop the political vote whoring for Hispanic votes.

11. Dump modern day Druids like Obama, Lisa Jackson, Pelosi, Shummer, Franken, Boxer, Reid, Murray, Debbie Wasserman Shultz and Ken Salazar. Their Green Theology has destroyed energy production and industry.

12. Bring back import taxes.... China makes garbage and destroys American jobs. Remember, they are not our friend.

13. Schools need to instill work ethics like dependability, honesty, self-discipline and responsibility - and spend less time liberal propagandizing and progressive social engineering.
