If the Tea Party Takes Over It's Democrats' Fault

In his work of political intrigue, Julius Caesar, Shakespeare wrote:

The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,
But in ourselves, that we are underlings.

We can piss and moan all we want about the federal government and Congress but the ugly truth is we put those men and women there. We get the government we deserve.

Several congressional incumbents have already lost their seats in primaries and a lot more of them will be tossed out of office in the November midterm elections. The reason is very simple. Most Americans believe that D.C. in general, and Congress in particular, are a cesspool of corruption, incompetence, and waste.

We blame the special interests and the media but we need to take a hard look at ourselves. Democrats in particular. If the Party of Tea, also known as the GOP, takes control of one or both houses of Congress, liberals will point to the Tea Party, the Fox News Channel, and Rush Limbaugh as the reasons for our distress.

[Check out our editorial cartoons on the Tea Party.]

But we are the real culprits. A recent Gallup Poll indicated that Democratic congressional candidates were in a flat-footed tie with Republicans in a generic Congressional head-to-head question. This is misleading because Gallup indicated that Republicans are twice as likely to vote in the midterm elections as Democrats are. So we have only ourselves to blame.

Vice President Biden said this week that voters shouldn’t compare Democrats to the almighty; they should compare our party to the alternative.

I hope that does the trick.

The Citizens United Decision is a big 'FOR SALE" sign on our elections!

Money corrupts politics and this election is marked by big money on steroids to buying the elections. The net result will be redistribution of wealth to the Rich with taxpayers money. Do you think the filthy rich are spending billions on buying this election because of some kind of goodwill. The teabaggers have already mortgaged themselves off to the billionaires paying for their campaigns.

The Supreme Court unleashed the devil into politics with unlimited campaing spending and gave us a total absence of transparency from where the money is really coming from. For all we know Communist Chinese and Arab oil tycoons are paying for the disruptive teaparty garbage just to ruin this country.

Sure as the day is long tea party republicans policies are horrible and self destructive for the country and the Citizens United Decision is to blame for letting reckless money that's run away with all the dirty politics we are witnessing.

The citizens awoke and found a community organizer redistributing their wealth and more in line with very liberal European leaders - who are pulling back to a more conservative position - than that which made America great. There is nothing but darkness coming out of this administration and the people look at it like smut - you can't necessarily define it from what might be acceptable at times, but you sure know its stink!

Should have read the bills you passed.

Ronny Callin of CA this is not France or Europe. We are not even England. Maybe you would be happier living some place else ? Many rather live here.

Perfect we are not. Better than most you bet. Don't need to read foreign press...
